  1. I am just getting started myself or my wife is anyway. Dick Blick has a good deal going on right now. They have one of the best selections of paint Createx, free shipping, and 20% off orders $99 or more. Hobby Lobby near me is having a big sale of Createx Paints and with the Coupon Dick Blick was more than $1.30 cheaper per 4 oz of paint. I ordered my gun (Iwata Revolution), compressor, cleaner, helping hands, and hoses off Amazon Iwata before I saw the Dick Blick Sale. As for blanks I ordered from Predatorbass baits, unpainted lures, and Bustin Bass Baits. The hardware I ordered from Janns Net Craft.
  2. Nice work. I just bought a gun, air compressor, 200 paints, 70 bodies, and in the process of setting up a work station need to make a paint booth and drying station. My wife is wanting to start painting baits.
  3. Nucanoe has a flat back, Bass Yaks makes conversion kits for almost any kayak. Torqueedo is very easy to mount to almost any kayak.
  4. My Elite 7 Chrip for my Ride 135 came in last Friday. I got it mounted Saturday afternoon, and used it for a few hours Saturday, but I was busy running a tournament so I didn't get much time with it. So far I really like it.
  5. Congratulations, now you just need someone to paddle you around while you fish and you're set. When I car topped I used the Yakima racks they are very well made, and high quality. You can find them used for a good price. Since I got a Yakima Rack and Roll I hardly ever car top any more.
  6. I've tried worm binders. I ended up busting the zippers. I've tried throwing them in the Black Pak, that just becomes a disaster and so does having them in the cockpit with you. I've done the gallon zip lock bag and that worked nice just have 5-6 1 gallon bags (one for each type of plastic) ie. Lizards, turtles, and frogs I combine, ribbon tail worms, stick worms, flukes, trailers, craws, and creatures I combine. Another thing that works well is a Disc Golf Bag a small one that holds 10-12 discs, it makes a great soft plastic bag, and I take heavy duty rubber bands and separate my plastics, and just throw them in the bag.
  7. Lots of great advise here. I would go kayak also and go with a SOT, especially if you are going on big water and go with 12-13', it will be much better on bigger water, and it's not bad on small waters. If you need to get a tailgate extender. In the past 5 years I've owned about 10 kayaks maybe more from Hobie's to Jacksons to Wilderness Systems. I get 2 new ones every year. This is the first year I haven't bought a new one because I'm happy with what I have a Ride 135. It's great for everything I've found even ran some class 3's last fall with no issues, paddled 6+ miles offshore to some wreks in Florida and did great. It's big enough to carry all my gear and myself. Like I said I usually sell mine every year and sell them for about 35-40% off retail so a $1000 kayak I usually sell for around $625-$700. Mine are always stored indoors in a climate controlled boathouse, and well taken care of. I usually try to sell to people who have never had a kayak before and want to try to get into the sport. I would look for a good used kayak at a great price.
