  1. Happy Thanksgiving Everyone.I have so much to be thankful for.My wife took me back eight years ago,we were married for 27yrs,and got divorced.I thank God everyday for Linda. Now if she'll only marry me again. .I do the cooking now, everything is cooked on the grill or smoker.Today I made the dressing, cheesy potatoe cassorale, they'll be put on the grill tomorrow, with the garlic roasted brussles sprouts.I made two pumpkin pies.Tomorrow while the turkey is on the smoker,i'll make sweet potatoe cassorale, and sweet potatoe biscuits.Life is Great.
  2. I don't need to worry about buying a fishing or hunting license again.I turned 65 this past July.In Delaware,no license is needed, when you turn 65.
  3. My local Papa John's bought a bass boat,so they can deliver me food,while i'm out on a lake.LOL
  4. I bought some swimjigs from Mike. They are great, and so is his service.
  5. I live in Delaware,do you really want to fish here?lol. But i'd be willing to take someone out.
  6. The better question would be,Why Don't You Fish?
  7. I called Bass, they said that I should get Nov.& Dec.issue about Nov.12th.I got the bassmaster & times in today mail.I asked when I joined.I joined in 1982,when it was cheap.lolMy son is named after me,so when i'm gone,he could still get them.I guess bass will figure out if i'll ever die.lol
  8. I haven't received a Bass Master Magazine in awhile.I do get Bass Times .though Anyone else not getting their's?
  9. I know that you said one person, but I have two.I enjoy fishing with my son,and my grandson.I fish with a few other guys, but nothing is better than watching my son and his son bonding together, like me and my son did.
  10. Growing up In NYC,dad would take us upstate. We'd fish the reservoirs for anything that would bite night crawlers or minnows.lolWhen I moved to Delaware,I taught myself how to fish for bass, using lures. This year i'm learning to use a baitcaster.
  11. Only one small tackle store near me,and the selection isn't that great.Dick's is 20 minutes away, don't like it.I buy most of my stuff from BPS.I like it when they have free shipping.I did place two orders with siebert this year, and will continue ordering from Mike.
  12. What gets me in the door is the sign that reads,ENTERlol. I went to my local DSG's when it opened in the summer. Not a place i'll be buying any fishing stuff. The prices are too high.
  13. Went out Friday in Delaware. The air temp.was in the 70's.Fished pads and wood, not one strike. We had rain the middle of the week, which probably didn't help.Still waiting for the fall bite, heck i'm still waiting for the pre-spawn bite.lol
  14. I ask my wife if she wants to try and have more kids.Hey we are both in our 60's,but we can at least try.lol
  15. I'd say 1.5-2lbs.In Delaware, you average about one fish an hour.
  16. My favorite lure is the lure, that I just caught a fish on.lol But seriously,a spinner bait was my favorite lure, when I fished tournaments.I throw a chatterbait now 99% of the time.
  17. I fish through January,in Delaware.I'm on blood thinners,so I just pick my days.I will start back up in March.
  18. I went to my local Merc Dealer. He found me one for $100.00.THE guy down the street, will probaly charge me $40.It's not a big job.
  19. My friend pulled the starter out,the teeth are all worn out.The guy that I talked with on the net.,said being it's an old engine,I just can't buy the starter alone. It's a 1980 merc.115,s/n 5785260
  20. The starter for my 1980 Merc.,died on Sunday. The cost for a new one is $300.00.I mostly fish ponds and lakes, where no wake is allowed. So my trolling motor is used all day.I'm not sure if I wanna spend $300.00,but it be nice to have the big engine running,in case the trolling motor breaks down.I just think that $300.,is unbelievable.
  21. I'm 65,fished my first tournament since 1987,this past Sunday.
  22. On Sunday a local club is having an open tournament,on a local lake.I haven't fished one since the 80's,but a young friend wants to fish it,and I have a permit for this lake.Neither of us has ever fished this lake. The cut off date for pre fishing is tomorrow at midnite,so i'm going hit it for a few hrs.We are in for a cold front Fri.night, dropping temps from in the 70's to about 69 degrees. No big deal there. But winds will be blowing 10-25.I've watche videos on this lake which is about 167 acres. It's full of pads and wood.Giving the conditons, where do you think we should start out first, pads or wood? The limit is 20 boats,so far they have 16 boats.A lot of guys who will be fishing, they know this lake.Hopefully tomorrow,I can figure someting out.
  23. Right now the bow is sitting on the roller, next time I go fishing,i'll get a pic of it.
