  1. Hello, Does anyone have a good suggestions on a good rod to match up with a Ci4+ 3000 that balances well? The reel is so light that I find it a little tip heavy on the rod it's currently on. ( Abdu Garcia Villain) Looking for M at MH rods thx
  2. Spinning MGX is what I am interested in hearing about.
  3. Right now, my go to reel in that $230 price range is the Shimano Stradic Ci4. However I don't mind fishing my less expensive Pflueger President and Ecooda Black Hawk from time to time. (Good reels for the money) Also good loaner reels for when I introduce friends to fishing. I don't own any Abdu Garcia reels, so I am considering matching my Abdu Garcia Villain rod with one.
  4. I'm interested in hearing about the MGX Spinning reel as well. I got one of those Villain Rods needing a reel.
  5. I bought a Quantum Cabo 40 over the holidays. I only had a chance to fish with it once so far, but just couldn't get used to the awkward angle of the handle. I also realized how much more I prefer the handle on my Shimano Ci4 3000. I purchases the Cabo mainly because I wanted something good for Salt Water with a higher drag. Can anyone suggest a good alternative? Thanks
  6. RPK, I am off on Friday as well and I am available on Saturday after 12pm. I moved recently, so lots of my gear is still packed and burried in the garage, I may need to make a trip to the store and buy some of the essentials. I'm in Ashburn. Regardless, let's pick a spot to fish!
  7. Kayaks aren't really that enjoyable for me to fish out of. Sure they are fun for Kayaking and paddling around, but I like to be able to walk around a bit and carry more stuff with me. An aluminum Jon boat with a decent motor does the job in most cases. The wider you can afford, the better. Adds some stability and gives you some room to carry gear and friends along. Plus you can customize them as you please. If you can afford it, get an all welded one with .100 or better hull. I do not personally own one, but for the money, Weld-Craft makes appears to make a pretty decent boat. You can check out some prices here: http://directboats.com/weldcraft.html
