  1. Do they make a jerkbait box anymore? I see the older ones that have spaces for them seperatly. I want that. I like my Rick Clunn Lucky Strikes but they get beat up when 10 are smashed together in a Plano box. I acn't find anything online. Ebay has some for $40+ used!!!!
  2. It was just released at this years Icast. Old molds will now be used again. It will have the mold line on the bottom and they are offering new colors. Don't know when they will be on shelves.
  3. Schooling fish will smoke an A rig. I got third in my club tourny last week and the first solid keeper was on the A rig. I have two rods designated for them. The right rod and line combo makes a BIG difference. They won't and can't catch fish if they stay in the box.
  4. I will throw one fo sho! Need a black and yellow one and a red one.
  5. Had a club tourny this past weekend and it was SLOW for all. Lake usually brings in a few bags over 15lbs and a few 4-5lb bass. This tourny was won with 5 bass for 7.85lbs I got third with 3 bass for 5.89lbs. I almost left after weighing in because I was embarassed with the catch. Ended up leaving with $200. Big bass was only 2.50lbs. I feel that I should have moved shallow with the moon but never did it. I like a no moon night better.
  6. Wow never have I ever seen something like that. On a boat or at a store. Learn something everyday...
  7. Might be a ribbon you tie to the trolling motor. I have seen that before. Lets others know you are in the tourny. Good luck in the tourny!
  8. Bass King is the flavor of the month for me.
  9. I say you are right on. Just ticks me off tho. Oh well, I will just fish hard and try to win three in a row there!
  10. Well we are going to this lake for sure this weekend. I approached the guy and he said he would back off. I am not worried about him catching the bass, because I am doing something way different than most. I just don't want him getting that close and finding out the strategy also. I am going to use it as motivation and not let it get me down. My partner and I have confidence and that is the best bait in the boat.
  11. So here is my situation. I have won a few tournaments on a particular lake. A guy seen where I spend most of my time and brought it up to me. He said man it is deep where you were fishing. I said it is pretty deep, how you know. He said when you left I went and fished it. Then he said he was going to start there in our next tournament. I just said find your own fish and it got going from there. What say you Bass Resource nation?
  12. Makes me sick reading these. Had a buddy have tools and things stolen at Guntersville. They used a crow bar and popped his fiberglass bed topper. The flat ones. So the $1000 lid was busted and all his high dollar tools were gone. Another guy had some rods stolen right in our cabin parking lot. They got in his boat and only took the rods with good reels on them. All Shimanos. Makes me think and want to make sure my stuff is locked up or brought in fo sho.
  13. I have a camp on a lake that has a slot. I keep 11" bass to eat. They are the perfect size for a samich. We can keep 6 bass, so that is the perfect amount of 11 inchers for me the wife and boy.
  14. Yes you feel guilty for not being Dad. Winning helps a little tho. Brought her home a nice bottle of wine....
  15. I have an Ipod connected to an external speaker. I play it fairly loud and I won a night tournament this past weekend. I don't think it hurts and it makes me happy. My partner and I both enjoy music. We had 18 lbs and second place only had 9 lbs. We had it turned up and and was having a great night! Singing and flipping bass in the boat! I vote go for it...
  16. Heck we caught more fish from 7pm-10pm and 6am-9am. Guess thats why we do it. Just makes it tough. I keep saying I will bring a sleeping bag and take a nap, but never do.
  17. My club fishes night tournament in July and August. We have had a couple in June and Sept but not many. We have done the all night 14 hour long deals lately. Does anyone else fish this long?? We take off at 7pm and weigh in is at 9am.
  18. I had my July night tourny sat. We had 8 fish in the livewell most of the night with some being caught really early. Second cast! I put about 5 pounds of ice in at first to get the water down a few degrees and a frozen two liter bottle with Please Release me in it. It was still cooler than the lake water in the morning and all eight fish were as lively as they were when we put them in. Two bass were in my livewell for 14 hours. One had a hook still in its throat. My partner hooked it deep and I decided to cut off the hook rather then ripping the throat of the fish. That fish was in great shape the next morning. I can't believe we fish 14 hour night tournamnets but we do. It is getting harder to do the older i get. We won with 18 pounds and that makes the drive home a little easier.
  19. Texas rigged no weight. I also have done well on rocky banks putting the senko on a shakey head. I think wacky feels wierd when working the bait. I have no confidence wacky rigged. I do wacky rig a big creme 8" worm in the spring. It doesn't have the resricted feel like a senko while working it.
  20. Wow those board shorts are awesome! I have to get a pair of those. Do they come in Humminbird LOL
  21. When will this stuff hit the shelves??
  22. My bro in law wants to buy two graphs. What do you recommend. I have a 1198 and 798 birds. I like them alot but he wants to see what others would buy.
  23. I went friday night to Patoka. Not a boat was in sight. Weird really. I put in at the Lick Fork ramp and stayed over there. We had three keepers before dark and then it slowed way down. Seems like points with deep green grass were our best pattern. Popping the bait, jig or texas rig through the grass and then letting it fall. We found several deep schools around the points of the dam. They were deep though. Might have been stripers or walleye. It was a cool site on my buddies 1198. Huge bait balls with arches all around. 30 to 45 foot deep though. If it was bass, i dont know how to get to them.
  24. When taking guys that dont fish alot, I see them doing the "check". I see his line jump or move down the bank and he is lifting trying to see if he is "still" on there. I will always remember the Bill Dance line "They don't have hands" if you feel a tug or bump, it is in their mouth. This is true 96% of the time where I am from. The other 4% is when spotted bass are eating a jig. Sometimes they hit the bait, spit it out, then eat it again. I guess they are killing the prey first. Anyway, SET THE HOOK if you feel anything... They don't have hands and hook sets are free.
  25. Come on guys these two lakes are fine. I have won more money on Patoka and Monroe than any other lakes. You have to throw away all your previous knowledge and start fresh. Go in with a open mind. Don't fish old spots. I have found that Patoka has no honey holes. All of mine have changed over the years. I just go and follow seasonal patterns now. Monroe did get me on our last tournament but I won last years there. Try the open mind thing at these lakes and I bet you do better.
