So I just found out they sold me the wrong transducer with it. It took me months to save the money to buy this and I end up getting screwed. Typical of the world today.

The person I got it from said the transducer had never been used so I wouldn't think it is broken. Lord I hope she didn't send me the wrong transducer. . I had to buy used because it's all I could afford so I definitely can't pay for a new one. This is what the ducer looks like can you tell the difference from the pic?

I've tried adjusting everything in the settings and I have the right transducer. I was thinking more along the lines of interference or possibly the transducer needs adjusting. I was hoping somebody would see the pic and know exactly what it is.

I got my Elite 5 HDI installed and out on the water, sonar works perfectly and will even hold bottom while on plane, but the downscan will barely even show bottom. It will just show a fuzzy line where the bottom should be or sometimes nothing at all. Any suggestions??

Yeah I'm definitely going to fix the holes I hadn't noticed how bad they were..

I figured that's where it needed to go, just wasn't sure because of the way it's configured right there. Thanks

I just ordered a Lowrance Elite 5 HDI (all I could afford) and I need help on where to mount the transducer.. As you can see my boat has had a transducer mounted before in 2 different spots. Should I mount it where the top holes are or the bottom by the drain plug? Or somewhere else? Thanks

If KVD reads this it may give him the confidence to overcome this "slump" he is in. I actually think you guys give him too much credit, I think I would have a good chance of beating him 1 on 1 in a one day tournament. Now a year long aoy race is a different story at this point in my fishing career given his vast knowledge of fishing and competition.

#1 backing my boat in the water, rope comes unhooked and boat starts floating off so I jump out of my truck and proceed to sprint towards the dock and make the 10+ foot jump into my boat. I still haven't realized the athletic potential I showed that day. #2 we have an old guy we call speedo man who is always laying on the dock only wearing his sweet speedo at the county boat ramp. One Day im going to wear a speedo and lay on the dock then give him a hard time while he launches his 1987 Jet Ski. Payback

I'm making the trip up to Pickwick this weekend and I am hoping to be lucky enough to catch my first ever smallmouth, and I have never been on the lake, so my question is does anybody have any tips on general areas you can catch a smallmouth? Also any general types of baits that catch smallmouth on the lake? Also I'm not asking for exact spots or baits, just general knowledge. Thanks!'

Does anybody have a drive gear and pinion for a Curado G7 they would be willing to let go? If not, does anybody know a good place to buy off the internet? Shimano had the drive gear but the pinion is out of stock, and I would rather not buy from eBay. Thanks!

I may just put a drop of super glue over the grooves and only use it with mono as a top water reel lol

Yeah but then I will be stuck with a reel that I know is going to have problems again in the future. I'm thinking of seeing if they will let me switch to the new Fuego baitcaster since it doesn't have the tws. I want to give it a try anyways.

I have a few Shimano reels, absolutely love the Curado I, except for the whine it makes casting.

I feel like it should be designed to where the line should not be rubbing that piece, when you have a fish on that's a lot of pressure cutting on that little piece of cheap metal. The way that piece is designed when your reel is engaged the line stays in the exact same spot when reeling, for the person who was wondering about that. And I have lost about ten jigs that I know we're caused by that, the line would break right at the reel and I haven't ever had that happen repeatedly. Not a whole lot of money but still not happy about it.

It was used with 17 and 20lb fluorocarbon since new but I just noticed it after putting braid on it. The Fluoro could have caused it

I know the tatula grooving issue has been equated to being as realistic as Bigfoot on this forum, but that was a year ago. Do people still think it doesn't really happen? I put braid on my 10 month old Tatula just 2 weeks ago, and it already has 2 distinct grooves that shear the braid off every few casts. I can post pics if anybody wants to see. This is very unfortunate, it's still a great reel, just not for braid. Thanks

I was up at Lake Guntersville yesterday bass fishing on a bluff wall, trying to catch a smallmouth because I have never caught one. Next thing I know Chris Lane pulls up on plane and stops about 50-75 yards in front of me, in the direction I was fishing. He sat in the same spot without moving for 30 minutes, so I was forced to turn around. Now I am not here to bash Chris or anything like that, I love watching him fish, but what he did yesterday disgusted me. If I'm going to fish near somebody first I will ask which way they are going, and more importantly I will ask if they mind me fishing behind them. I think respect and sportsmanship is of the utmost importance in bass fishing, and it seems these days this is not the case any more. Do you think what he did was wrong or do I just need to accept that this is the world we live in now? Thanks, Brett

I'm thinking about getting a fury 765Flip for an all around braid rod, I only carry one rod and reel with 50# braid because I don't like fishing with braid. It will be used the most for frogs, light punching, jigs in heavy cover, and a-rigs. My question is will this rod have enough power for these applications? I have never used a Dobyns rod so I don't know how they fish, but I love the look of this rod so I'm going to take the plunge. Also do you think this will be a good rod? I know people say the savvy is dead so I wonder if they will redeem their self with this series..?

Just thought I would reply, I still don't understand the negative comments. If I want to work hard for a company to get a very small amount of baits for free and a discount, what is wrong with that? You say I'm only asking because I want free stuff but the way I see it, when you have a job you get payed right? And when you get paid, you get paid in cash, so are you just in it for the money? Of course you are, you are working for some sort of payment, and that is what I want out of a sponsor. A mutually beneficial partnership.
