Rust Removal
I got this free old racing bike from the '50s awhile back and I'm finally getting around to turning it into a glow bike. The only problem is that it's caked in rust. When I mean caked on, I mean like a double coating of butter-cream frosting on a chocolate sheet cake, it's just to much. The rims are suppose to be silver, but they're literally brown. I took some steel wool to the rims and got some of the "thinner" rusted areas clean, I just can't seem to get the "thick" rusted areas clean. I don't want to throw out the bike because it was free and I'm a cheap. Is there a chemical I can put on the rust to help remove it? Or is a little more elbow grease needed? Also, how do you remove old chipping chrome without slicing up your hands? One last question, how do you remove old paint?

Adventure's Death?
Not sure if this is adventure, but I'm finally working out after my shoulder surgery. Never really worked out before, so it's all really new. The main reason I am, though, is to learn something that I have always wanted to do, parkour.

Adventure's Death?
Trust me, I know I'm not indestructible. I nearly lost my left leg after I broke it because of the way it broke. The blood circulation was cut off and they were afraid to move it in fear of severing the artery... Makes you realize to live life to the fullest, which I'm having trouble doing, but yet I feel I'm closer than ever.

Adventure's Death?
I'd love to rock climb but I don't think I can. I had a grade four shoulder separation and had to have a surgery to fix it. I don't think the results are what the doctor thought would happen. In other words, I'm thinking I'll need another surgery. Also, I have a fear of heights because the first time I was on a Ferris wheel my dad thought it'd be funny to rock it and I was scared to death. Exploring underwater caves sounds cool, though. I'll have to check that out. Thanks for the suggestion! Maybe I'll find some pirate treasure...

Adventure's Death?
A land can have people living there, but it's technically not discovered until a world power explores it. America, for example, had natives living there for many years, and the land was "not" discovered and explored until it was searched for and recorded. Until then, it was nonexistent. The explorers from the "world power" are the ones credited for the discovery despite being lived upon for many years by natives. Even with the help of the natives it is still considered the explorer's adventure, nothing else. They're the ones that get remembered and written about. I'm not arguing, I'm just trying to better understand this. Also, I apologize for what I said, "The way I see adventure is that one day a person drops everything and just goes, where, I don't know. They set out on a "quest" and they explore and do things people never expect and become legends in the history books." That was a bit of an exaggeration on my part. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the Americas were found when trying to sail around the world to reach India? If that is true, then the New World "never existed" until it was explored. I also thank you for taking interest in the topic and trying to open my eyes.

Adventure's Death?
Life has to be played, adventure doesn't. Adventure is part of life, only true adventure is sought, not found.

Adventure's Death?
I totally understand were you are all coming from, but I just don't know if I'm not understanding it or if my logic is flawed. Maybe I do get it, perhaps I just don't understand that I get it yet, though? Help. I can see how you think life is an adventure all in its self because of the unpredictability and twists fate has in store for us. Life, to me, is finding out who you truly are, which would relate back to one of the final things I stated. We're mostly in control of our own life, so if that's the case, we're "creating or destroying" ourselves. Hiking in different areas in the world is a way to find oneself. That, not trying to be mean here but I wish I could do that too, is not adventure because everything is planned. I guess I never really clarified this in the original post, but adventure has no back-up plan or expected outcome (I know life is like this). The way I see adventure is that one day a person drops everything and just goes, where, I don't know. They set out on a "quest" and they explore and do things people never expect and become legends in the history books. An adventure is something that can easily be written about, and that is one of my main goals, to go on an epic "trek" and simply put what I experienced in a book. Correct me if I'm wrong or If you don't quite understand. I ran out of time typing this because I had to leave so it may be a bit ambiguous.

Adventure's Death?
When I think of adventure, one definition comes to mind:an exciting or dangerous experience. I look around in the world and I feel adventure, based off this definition, is nonexistent. I feel this because nearly all land on Earth has been explored, and technological advancements diminish the effect of the unknown. To me, history books clearly show adventure especially when dealing with colonial America. If you look at the life of a settler (not going to discuss religious reasons on settling), nothing was definite and everything was the moment. The potential of the vast amounts of land was obviously on their minds, but survival was their main priority. Just surviving may seem boring to some, except cultivating a foreign land to actually thrive clearly demonstrates adventure. There were also endless opportunities in the New World just waiting for that one adventurer to seize the moment and live life. In that time period there was always unknown all around them, yet they strove to advance because adventurous people are the ones to actually benefit society. Even looking years ahead with the Louisiana Purchase, how lucky were Louis and Clark to explore the untamed lands in their expedition. Surely they thought at times death was near, though, they kept exploring due to the pure excitement of their journey. They faced death to live life, what a way to live. Technology seems to be a welcomed disease into this world. Everything seems to bring us together, but yet I feel, we as a people, have never been further apart in these last few years. I'm not saying reconnecting with people that have been long forgotten is a bad thing, it's just that human interaction is on the decline. Human interaction helped form that adventure that I'm so desperately seeking. I think of the times when people would drop everything to help another or change plans if, for example, a relative rolled into town, and that leads me to think to myself, "Are we like that?" In my opinion, no. Being a phone call away is tearing adventure apart because before that people had to go out and seek each other, and sadly, that alone seems adventurous in today's world. If that's adventure, then what truly is adventure? Adventure, when I think about it, is dead. I might be wrong, I might not be, but having only eighteen years of life drastically cuts down on my knowledge. Perhaps I am wrong, and true adventure is finding your passion in life and who you truly are. Anyways, I don't know, I was bored and felt like writing a little something, and going on adventures like Huck Finn is whats been on my mind. I tried to keep it short and it's probably not the best, but I'd love to discuss your views on life to try to better understand it in general. Leave a comment and help me find adventure. Please, I beg you.

Something Scary Is Happening
You need to call up the "Finding Bigfoot" goons... Have BoBo call him out of the woods... In all seriousness though, maybe you could set up a tree stand and stay in it a few nights. Make sure to wear scent blocker, too. You can't have those large beasts that stalk the shadows of the forest smell your stench, human stench that is, before they get close enough for you to see them.

Nerd Moment
The title says it all, guys. I wrote this old-English sonnet in my creative writing class and I'm quite proud of it. If you would, read it and tell me what you think, and you can say anything. Heck, maybe even throw down a poem you wrote and I'll check it out. Winter's Grace Then let not Winter's cleansing purity Pass me by without leaving a true trace. Bestow onto me a found surety, And cleanse me from all those who I disgraced. Winter, wherefore dost thou leave me without Saying goodbye? Come hither and dost not Leave me. Winter, ho! doth thee make me doubt Thy powers? Hath thou left me with no wrought? Anon, doth not flee from me, I pray thee. Hie to me ere summer, for I need thine Cleansing powers ere I retrieve thy key. Hence Death, I need Winter ere my decline. For I know thoust hath not left me, nor will. Thine powers saved me, and my spirit filled.

Dominent Eye
I have this same problem. For years I shot right-handed and I grouped 5 inches at 25 yards. When I was looking for a new bow I learned I was left eye dominant. I got a left handed bow and now from 30 yards I shoot 3 inch groups. I'd strongly suggest getting a left handed bow if funds allow it. Also, everything seems more natural. I'm 18 if that helps any.

Teacher Assistant
Thanks for reading the article guys. I wish you knew the teachers on a personal level because the story would be ten times better. Once again, thanks.

Teacher Assistant
Why yes! The Great White beast is one of those, as you put it, "enormous white office style copiers." Also, thanks for reading it and the feedback. You have no idea how much that actually means to me...Golly gracious, thanks man.

Word Of The Month.
I'm expecting some sort of feedback. I don't care if it's good or bad. Just as long as you take a look at it...

"LOL" at the paper or at the comment?

To Me Fathers Day Present.
I'm not a dad yet, so my opinion probably doesn't fit all to well. I don't care, though. That plan sounds awesome.

Word Of The Month.
I probably use it at least 50 times a day. Also, you seem like a rather eccentric guy, and I'd like to hear what you think of the TA paper I wrote. The forum thread is titled Teacher Assistant. If you check it out that's be awesome. If you don't, I'll probably cry a little...Just joshing...

Teacher Assistant
Well, I just finished up my last year at high school and it was a good four years. Last quarter I was a teacher assistant for my favorite teacher at the school. Together we formed an underground newspaper which I named "The Incognito Wordsmiths." This quarter I was also a teacher assistant for another teacher. However, this one wasn't quite as exciting. In fact, I only made copies. After being a TA we have to write a reflection paper on what we did. The first one was filled with awesomeness on what the underground newspaper was actually was for. This last experience was a hard write, though. So, I had to spice it up a little. Seeing that the teacher and I both love Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit, I based my reflection paper off it. The guidance counselor probably never read anything like this before nor ever will again. I changed the names of the teachers for my protection and theirs. Anyways, here it is: “The Quest for the Perfect Print” Chapter One: An Unexpected Journey The rooster crowed as the sun broke the treeline, waking me from my slumber. I sat up in my bed and something was off about the day, as if an evil filled the air. I walked over to my window, put my hands behind my back, and gazed across the horizon pondering my thoughts. Watching the sun rise higher in the sky, I remembered it was the third day of the quarter and I was yet to find a first block class. Evil was upon me. I prepared for the long battle that awaited me. Equipped with a shirt, shorts, and shoes, I was invincible. I walked out the safety of my domain and a perilous trek stood before me. The neighbors dog guarded my path. I watched the dog circle their house, and when it’s back was turned, I snuck through their yard unscathed. I continued on and passed through the wooded valley. Crossing the road was my last obstacle. There were no cars in sight, but once I stepped on the road a thick fog rolled in and they came. I hurried across and took shelter within the school. Safe at last. I went to see Count Kilb because I knew he liked Lord of the Rings and we had our typical Lord of the Rings discussion. Before I knew it, time slipped away and first block was ending. Out of desperation I asked Count Kilb to be his TA. Count Kilb accepted my offer and I began An Unexpected Journey. Chapter Two: The Desolation of the Copy Machine Rumors of a beast echoed through the halls. Claims of a beast so vile, that it spit up everything that it took in, even giving up parts of its soul each time. Legends call it the “Great White.” I was summoned by Count Kilb and he sent me out to tame this legendary beast. All he gave me was two weapons: an article on Abe Lincoln and one on slavery. I was greatly out matched. Surely I was to be defeated. Along the way I ran into seasoned warriors. One by the name of Knight Barclay and the other Knight Mrs. L. I’ve heard epics sung in the great halls of their ability to slay these strange creatures. Everything was true. They prepared me for war and a fellowship was formed. I led the charge against Great White with aid from my fellowship. I grabbed Great White by the handle and opened him up, throwing down my article on Abe Lincoln. The beast let out a bright green light. I was blinded. Knight Barclay quickly closed the beast and lifted me up. Knight Mrs. L pushed the beasts buttons and yelled, “Hit the green button now!” I pushed it. Out from the beast flew papers. Each with a piece of of the beasts soul on them. Great White was enraged, though. It began to grumble and the papers stopped. All of a sudden, hundreds of papers came out with random alt codes. Great White was battling back. Knight Barclay fled and I was left with Knight Mrs. L and hope faded. Great White relentlessly kept spitting alt codes. But slowly the beast faded. Great White breathed its last breathe. We were victorious. I conquered the beast. Chapter Three: There and Back Again I walked back to Count Kilb with my head held high to tell him the tale. He was in awe of my bravery and I earned his trust. The rest of the days of my TAship were filled with making copies on the beast I slew and hearing Count Kilb’s tales of adventure. I’m glad I was There and Back Again.

Monster Week- Who's Watching?
I will watch it because I can't wait for Blood Lake: Attack of the Killer Lampreys. Looks just like a SyFy original, which I love.

The Demise Of A Bass Fisherman?
I'd look at the BPS rods, but I live an hour and a half away from the nearest one. I also like to see the item before I buy the item...

The Demise Of A Bass Fisherman?
The rod says muskie on it, though. I also have a medium Sojourn rod for my spinning gear and it's nowhere near as stout as the, quote on quote, "muskie rod."

First A Big Foot Sighting Near Me...now This
To me, it's a bug. The cups falling over, a hoax. Nothing like getting free advertising on a massive news station. Do you believe it's haunted?
