I've Had It With Flourocarbon Line!
Fireline isn't a FC. It was my "go-to" line before I got hooked on Spiderwire's lineup.

Spinning Reel - Braid - What Pound Test?
Howdy All, I am from West Virginia so our bass aren't quite as huge as many other places. I have always used 10lb test braided line. After reading much on here...I am seeing many suggest 30lb. Does that go for my setup too? What pound test would most of you use if you were in my situation? Spinning/Open Face Reel, Some Cover (nothing awful), Braided Line. Thanks for your time. -Click

What Pound Test?
I usually only use 10lb test braid. I still don't understand going so heavy. I have never broken the line. Keep in mind though..I fish West Virginia...not Florida or Southern California.

Fluoro No Stretch?...myth?
“ Fluorocarbon line looks a lot like mono. But it’s a different material, and transmits vibrations much better. A lot of fishermen believe that fluorocarbon is more sensitive because it has less stretch than mono, but according to the good folks at Stren, that isn’t the case. My good friend Eric Naig at Berkley says that all nylon monofilament contains 18 to 35 percent stretch, while most fluorocarbon contains 28 to 38 percent. And stretch in braided line is in the 2 to 7 percent range. The difference is that nylon has a stretch recovery, or rubber band effect. Fluorocarbon may elongate, but differently. Actually the density of the line is what makes it more sensitive." -Bill Dance "Now, Bill confirms the density aspect of fluorocarbon, and its applicability to creating a better feel. However, he is righting a wrong here by telling aspiring anglers that in the marketing of this line there has been a misconception. I applaud Bill’s integrity here, and expect nothing less from this indisputable fishing icon. While fluorocarbon may be marketed as being low in stretch, it actually stretches more than monofilament." -John Warren The above was taken from this blog article. Very interesting read. http://fishingwithconfidence.net/fluorocarbon.html

Spooling Baitcaster...10Lb Braid...need Feedback.
Spiderwire contacted me today on Facebook and is sending me some line to try. Since I haven't used them in years I will give it a chance and see. I've never had any bad luck with Fireline.

Spooling Baitcaster...10Lb Braid...need Feedback.
It just looks like a white line in the water. I have never found anything 'invisible' about it. Sorry to hear about your experience with Fireline. I have not had a line break on 8 or 12 pound test in the last 3 seasons.

Spooling Baitcaster...10Lb Braid...need Feedback.
I am a huge fan of Fireline. I used to use Spiderwire Ultra Cast Invisibraid until 3 years ago..I tried Fireline and never looked back. I never run any mono backing and it works fine for me.

Hello, I am new to the forums. I have been fishing since I was a small kid. Through my teen years I started to target bass specifically. I am now almost 30 and now it is almost an obsession. I fish out of the great state of West Virginia. I look forward to interacting and learning from all of you. Thanks!
