  1. I hope they are found soon. I coach a high school bass team and this is about the worst thing in the world to think about. Praying for the families and Search and Rescue. Sad
  2. 1. Boat Control 2. Electronics 3. Tournament butt kickings
  3. Lightning hit the boat house on Lake Vermillion that we were using as shelter. I heard click, click, pop, boom and watched sparks fly out of all the electrical outlets. Thats about close enough for me.
  4. I'm in the market for some new rain gear. Pretty much have it narrowed down to Simms Challenger series or Huk Hydra series. Any one have experience using either, and care to provide some feedback? Good or Bad appreciated.
  5. I like everything about them, but the price.
  6. Clinton gets a ton of pressure and lots of tournaments run on it. Deffinately some nice fish in it, but some serious sticks make the rounds. As angus says its a tough one to figure in the spring. I think the Spawn on these lakes has a lot to do with photo period length and moon phase. My opininion, "If the dogwoods are blooming Bass will be spawning", even on power plant lakes. I'm sure some big girls have gone already and some more will go. Deffinatley a lake to look for off the wall spots that might not get as much pressure.
  7. Have your water temps dropped?
  8. How are you approaching it? We have had some pretty serious rains in the midwest recently. The prespawn bite was starting to pick up with waters in the mid 50's, but recent rains and cold temps are probably going to back them off. What do you think and how are you going to adjust your fishing?
  9. I like the FG, but only on floro leaders with higher poundages. 6 and 8 lbs leader I use the alberto. I would also go floro leader over mono, but thats just my preference.
  10. Decided on the mojo wacky 68 mxf. I'm hoping this will fill my needs.
  11. Good advice keep it coming. Planning on staying spinning gear for this set up, I like an octopus style hook, but they make wacky hooks now that are pretty similar. Leaning towards the 68 mxf, just not sure what model yet. Not sure that I need a 300 dollar rod for a wacky set up as its fished on slack line a lot.
  12. Decided to have a dedicated wacky rod set up and a shakey head rod set up instead of trying to do both with the same rod. I've got a 7 medium fast veritas with a revo s 20 that I've been using for both. Just purchased a revo stx 20 that I'm looking at getting a St. Croix rod for. Would you use the current set up as the dedicated wacky rig or for the shakey head set up? What rod would you be buying to complement that choice? Legend Tournament would probably be the highest Croix that I would be willing to get. Thanks for your help, and tight lines.
  13. I've done this many times. A lot depends on the length you plan to stay. Start with short trips and learn from them. (Longer trips may requrire a generator to charge your boat batteries).
  14. Needle nose gar are pretty hard to hook. Not sure if they are in your area.
  15. No one has tried the new 2018 Legend Tournament Bass spinning reels? How do you like the new reel seat and feel?
  16. Any one fishing one of the new LTB Spinning rods, and if so how do you like the new reel seat? I didn't like the old design, but the new design has me ready to try one out. Anyone use one yet? Thinking about the LBS610MLXF and pairing it with a tatula lt ss, for some drop shot/ neko fishing. Any feedback appreciated.
  17. Slaunch Donkey, well done Schram.
  18. My take is Yes and No, depends on the presentation and clarity. Fishing fast horizontal baits looking for reaction strikes, line visibility is probably less important. Fishing more finesse Vertical presentations, when fish have time to examine your offering, line type and diameter are very important, especially in clear water. Lighter line will also allow more action in your presentation and give it a more life like appearance. The specifics of the different line types should also play a factor in your decision.
  19. 84 percent of the final day field weighed 5 bass, 4 anglers did not. Call it whatever you want. Still like the guy and will be cheering for him in the future.
  20. Great observations. The future of Bass and some of the up and comers is unbelievable. Kids at the high school and college level are waiting in the ranks to be the next Jordan Lee.
  21. Yes he pretty much did from what I saw. The live feed was the best ever, I was so pumped for Jason when he got his 4th, just needed one more. Ehler bombing spots had me cheering. Great tournament, and hats of to the closer Matt Lee.
  22. I really like Jason Christie as a Bass Fisherman, but only 4 on the last day. Come on man!!! Watching him spin out was tough, I was pulling for him until the end. He seemed to be fishing to fast. Its not easy, and I'm sure I will never know the pressure he felt after leading day two. What do you think he could have done differently to get that 5th bite? I was wondering why if the fish were on the docks, especially on day 3, why we didn't see more wacky rigs or weightless senko type presentations skipped under them?
