  1. I use the bananaboat brand of sunscreen that is fragrance free but I doubt that fish wouldn't be able to dectect a good amount of it. But I don't think handling your lures after using sunscreen and washing your hands would effect catching bass.
  2. That second picture is so perfect its probably photoshopped!
  3. Someone recently made a post about sunscreen for fisherman and I would like to know who thinks sunscreen even effects fishing for bass. Should we worry about it? I mean maybe the grease I fry my chicken in spooks em? Maybe my shampoo? Maybe the Pepsi I drink? Maybe the sugar from my donut? What I'm trying to say is it seems like a lot of the things we use bass can detect but the real question is would it cause them to not hit your lure.
  4. Are there any studies that show that sunscreen can spook fish? Or is it all assumptions and things we've been told.
  5. I'm sure bass are terrified of a grown alligator gar lol but in the lake I fish I don't think a big bass would be worried about a longnose gar, but a small bass could get devoured. That being said I have caught bass of all size with what looks to be healed bite marks
  6. Do you fish them like a modern propbait?
  7. Try using a bait with no salt and monofilament for your leader. A bite will feel like a pencil tapping on the end of your line, try to stay alert when using a Carolina rig because its easy to miss a strike.
  8. Which species of gar are we talking about? Alligator?
  9. Y'all done scared me with all this skin cancer talk! I went out and got me some 50 SPF sunscreen creme and I'm gonna start covering up!
  10. Idk about any modern light tackle baitcasters, but man my bantam 100 can throw light line great...
  11. Congratulations on completing your goals! I hope you catch your trophy trout and smallmouth on the same trip! Haha
  12. Never thought about it that way...
  13. I don't muscle all my cast, I just got to big for my britches and tried to cast across the lake after seeing a big fish roll lol
  14. How can you guys possibly wear that much clothing on a hot day in a boat... I feel like I'm roasting at 11AM in shorts and a thin T-Shirt here is south Georiga... Give me some sunscreen and I'll be fine.
  15. That wasn't the first fish I caught on it, it was probably the 20th-ish
  16. I sent them an email, hopefully they can replace it...
  17. Yeah it was me being dumb that caused the backlash
  18. Today I put a little to much oomf into my cast and backlashed to a hard stop and my 20# power pro super 8 slick snapped in two. Has this happened to anybody else or was this just a fluke?
  19. Today my 2 week old KVD 1.5 cracked in half right down the side after I landed a fish I noticed it. has this happened to anyone else? Im gonna buy another because they are so good but was just wondering if this happens a lot.
  20. I'm surprised so many people prefer the rivers, I thought this would be a close poll not a blowout! Haha
  21. There is no such thing as spending to much time making sure your worms straight! Haha
  22. Im dumb... When I first read the title I thought to myself "50 oz swimbait! What is this madness..." I'd give another vote for the curado 300E
  23. I don't believe it was a "bad" hook set but it definitely wasn't perfect and I usually change the hooks on my bomber square A's to a size bigger but didn't do it on this one I was using... The thing is, you can do every do everything perfect and lose a big one then feel like you did everything wrong...
  24. Look at the belly on that one!
  25. I'm not worrying about it I was just curious, because I know if your sight fishing in a tourny foul hookups don't count.
