  1. I will pull out a good bit every now and again when it starts getting sloppy but I don't really ever go all the way to the spool and then put it back on...
  2. I was looking at those St.Croix Mojo rods and they look pretty good too for about 100$, they get pretty good reviews... Anybody have experience with em?
  3. Hey guys, I wanna get a Pflueger President and pair it up with a nice all around rod... I'm not too experienced with spinning set-ups and would like yall's help. I'm looking for more help on the rod power and action rather than a brand but by all means give me suggestions on good rods. (Price range is 100$ or less...) I wanna be able to dropshot on it and also be able to throw stuff like weightless/light texas rigs (Speed Craws, Senkos, etc....) and while those are the two important things to me I would like to be able to do other stuff on it too... I fish decently thick cover like grass and cypress trees. I'm thinking a M/F would work good, Does that sound about right? Or should I go for something like a medium/moderate??
  4. Hmmm... I like those bait ball lures...
  5. Great outing! I've gotta get into those chatterbaits...

  7. The Speed Craw I always throw on a Medium/fast spinning rod, The Rage Craw ill throw on a medium/fast bait caster or spinning rod. Spinning has 10-20lb braid and the bait caster has 30lb braid. I have thrown a weightless speed craw on my bait casters before but IMO its a lot easier on a spinning rod because its so light...
  8. Rage Craws and Zoom Speed Craws are amazing when used as a buzzbait type lure! Its definitely one of my confidence techniques a lot of the year here...
  9. Diawa millionaire S My uncle always let's me use his when I fish with him and its a great reel.
  10. I fished em this weekend and got skunked both days... Very hard fishing sat and sun, found some schooling bass Saturday and got a strike or two from small ones but didn't hook up. Caught a couple big pickerel and surprisingly they didn't cut a single piece of the rubber skirt off!
  11. My guess is it isn't spooled on tight enough
  12. What if the stars align and someone else releases another arowana in that pond.... Then they reproduce and hey ho presto we have arowana in the U.S! Wonder if that would be bad....
  13. To me the definition of a pole is something that has one end stuck or pushed into the ground.... Like a flag pole or push pole for example.
  14. I use left hand retrieves with spinning gear and right with baitcasters, I believe its because with how I use baitcasters its more of a power technique so I use my strong hand to crank the reel, then with spinning its a light drag finesse kinda technique so I have my strong hand on the rod and crank with my weaker side. This has been brought up probably a little more than a million times on the forum...
  15. Used to call it a fishing pole, still do sometimes... Guess I call it a fishing rod more though.
  16. Off topic, but I use braid for crankbaits without a leader.
  17. At least he didn't say he hooked a 6LB peacock... Haha
  18. I like the full sized rage craw rigged vertically, if I want a smaller profile I'll trim it alittle
  19. Or a tigerfish... https://www.google.com/search?redir_esc=&redir_esc=&hl=en-US&client=ms-android-verizon&source=android-browser-type&v=210020210&qsubts=1415539067828&q=tiger%20fish
  20. I don't have luck fishing jigs on silty/weedy bottoms ethier, I'd try a Texas rig as well. My theory is the jig is just getting buried in the weeds/silt and the bass can't see it, a Texas rig with a sliding weight will make it so the weight sinks in the weeds/silt but the bait stays above. That's my theory.
