  5. going to build a rod useing micro guides bmkog-4 did not buy a tip top guide i dont know what size to buy any of you guys know what to use going to build a conventional rod not a spiral 6'-6" med-fast tip baitcasting rod
  6. I'm confused about these because I have a hard time understanding how the micro guides keep the line off the blank. I was playing with one of the Carrots with mirco guides and the line was on the blank almost the whole way up. Could you elaborate for me? i am going to try and build a rod with micro guides got the blank and ordered from mudhole the handle and guides they say the best build is to build it with a spiral build i can see then how to keep line off of rod what i read is you of course find your spline then put reel on and lay it flat on a bench with it hanging off end and put a weight on tip end like a bottle of water with a string hanging that puts a bend in rod about what you need then put first guide near handle and then the tip. then put all the same size guides on line and as you need about 6-7 guides and as you sriral them around rod keep it away from rod dont let it touch rod thats what i read hope it works kb
  7. i bought on this winter, a bait casting rod. have not been able to use it yet. kistler had them on sale in the winter for $99.00. i do like the way it feels with out any cork on forgrip, just have your hand on the rod its self.

  10. sounds like you like the blanks can you help me on a rod build. i want to build a 6'-8" or 6'-9" mh-fast tip bait casting rod with a allmost full cork handle do not want the forgrip to be cork . nothing on the end except the reel seat screw hood. where i can put my hand on the rod its self would like to try a mhx rod with micro guides do you use fugi guides. how many on a rod that length 6or 7 +tip. i have mostly avid rods is the action about the same as st croix. i do have a couple shimano rods and there med action is a lot less action than a st croix.st croix are a stiffer rod to me. sorry for all the questions but you seem to be the man to talk to someone that builds rods and also fishes them thank you ken kindle kbkindle@sugardog.com
