Electric Boat anchor or standard winch
I'm looking to add an electric boat anchor winch to a pontoon boat. I have been looking up the trac and minn Kota anchor systems. After thinking about it and looking at prices of regular winches they are cheaper and can handle a lot more weight. Have any of you have used a regular winch for this purpose instead of one of these package electric anchor systems. If so, do you think they offer any advantages over modifying a standard winch? Also I would be interested to hear if any one has any experiences with any of these systems. Thoughts, comments, suggestions all appreciated. Thank you

Eagle Cuda 168 fish finder
My dad recently purchased an older pontoon and it came with an Eagle Cuda 168 fish finder that is mounted on the drivers console. I have a Lowrance Elite 4x that I would like to use on the front of the boat In place of it when I use the boat. I was wondering if anyone knows if that transducer cable is compatible with my fish finder and/or if I can buy an adapter with an extension cable to work? Thank you

Light spinning reel for bass
Thanks for that information. You are right, I accidentally looked at the MODEL # PRESLESP20X which is 6.10 oz. I am leaning towards the Supreme XT 30X at 6.8 oz and 6.2:1 or the Revo RTX-25S. Decisions Dicisions. Guess I can return one if dont like.

Light spinning reel for bass
Nice setups. I am strongly considering the 30 series to get the higher speed and they don't seem to be that much more weight.

Pflueger Purist 1325 drag
I usually use the bass pro brand hooks but them seem pretty good. Yes, I always use backing with my braid.

Light spinning reel for bass
Thank you for everyone's help. I think I have narrowed it down to either the Pflueger Supreme XT, Supreme or President LE. Especially with the rebate going on. It looks like the President LE is actually lighter than the Supreme. Is it worth the extra money for the Supreme XT? Also I kind of like the Okuma Revo RTX-25S. It only weighs 6.6oz and has the higher 6.0:1 gear ratio that I like.

Light spinning reel for bass
I am looking at buying a new spinning reel for bass fishing. Due to health issue I need to get the lightest one possible that will still be good for bass fishing. I would like to keep it around $100-150 but would consider higher if necessary. I only fish a once or twice every few weeks, so it's hard to justify a $200+ Stradic and is it going to be that much better than a $100 dollar one? Thinking about Shimano Symetry 1000, Pflueger Supreme 25 or would it be better to jump up to the 2500 or 30 series? I appreciate any help and recommendations. Thanks so much.

Pflueger Purist 1325 drag
Ok Thanks, however it seems like I can't get a solid hook set and miss a lot of fish if I don't have the drag tightened all the way. Would it be best to keep the drag tight until I hook a fish and then loosen? Do you think I would be better of with a larger size reel with better drag? Thanks again for your help.

Pflueger Purist 1325 drag
Thank you for your help. It doesn't slip when locked all the way down, but if it isn't set all the way then it slips. It is only couple years old so will see what pure fishing says about it.

Pflueger Purist 1325 drag
I have Pflueger Purist 1325 spinning reel and I really like everything about this reel. Lately, I don't feel like the drag is enough or maybe working properly. I have to set the drag as tight as possible or the drag will slip whenever I set the hook. This happens with bass as small as 1/2lb or so. Does this sound like I have a problem with my drag or is this reel just not very good for bass fishing with a drag of only 6lbs? I am considering upgrading to either a Shimano Symetry, Pflueger Supreme or higher models. Should I be looking at the 2500 models in Shimano and 30 series for Pflueger? Thank you

For Us KC Area Guys - Fishing Reports
Hey guys, my friend and I are planning on taking his camper for a fishing trip in the next couple of weeks. I was wondering if you might be able to offer some recommendations on a good lake or fishing resort that isn't to far away from Kansas City area that might offer some good bank fishing and or offer fishing boat rentals as another option. We prefer to fish for largemouth bass but as long as we can catch fish we aren't to picky. According to the KS fishing atlas Butler county lake is listed as one the most stocked for largemouth bass. Thanks in advance.

For Us KC Area Guys - Fishing Reports
Hey guys, I am planning on going fishing a few days this week for the first time this year. Can you help me with the bass patterns and any suggestions on best techniques / lures for this time of year. I am mainly going to fish at a large pond. From my research it should be prespawn and probably fish slow moving stuff such as jigs, senkos and jerkbaits. I apprecate any help.
