  1. Are those poles pretty durable i like to fish in some pretty swift current i don't wanna buy it then break it. Thanks for that link.
  2. Luckley i live only 1 minute from my main fishing lake. So i go fishing pretty regular out there I'm not very concerned about that. Maybe once a week or every other week (try to) i go out to the river witch is 30 min away. But the boat weight i was told was 1500 ilbs with motor but the guy that told me that who i bought the boat from didn't deserve to even own a boat because i asked him if the tilt and trim worked and he told me the steering wheel does not move. I know its not an ideal thing to be to towing that big of a boat with my little 4 banger but i couldn't resist it for $3000 everything works perfect just scratches and dings but not bad. Do ya blame me? lol My hitch is a class 5 so im no to worried about that im more worried about the transmission blowing up. Or the motor. Its an automatic, in first gear i can't hardly tell the boats there but once it gets to second it surely shows it. Its a 16'7" boat. Thanks for everyone's input to its a lot of help better than just going at it and not knowing. Maybe when i get married she will let me buy a new truck. lol
  3. I really thought about the new truck. I know a new truck wont nagg at me. lol But yea the capacity is really close. But thanks for the imput man.
  4. Well ill be derned thats a mullet. Rivers bridge swamp, Goat hill is excellent if you don't mind walking in the swamp, coming from erhardt going to hampton after you pass broxton bridge plantation there will be a landing by the bridge on the right excellent fishing down there one side is private but the landing side you can walk back there. Theres a lake in barnwell you can walk all the way around good bass fishing there. And Lake warren in hampton. Its good fishing if you know how to fish it.
  5. Both!! lol.No For towing that boat with such a small truck.
  6. You caught a mullet in the river hollie crap. Never saw on of those in fresh water. Little hell is good fishing ive been camping down there a few times and took my john boat and set out lines around the lake. I went to the river yesterday put in at cohens bluff and flat out put a dent in the population of bream and crappie. Huge Bream. Fishing is good right now. Ive been tearing the redbreast up in swamp walking way back huge redbreast. Heck we will have to meat up one day and go get us some.
  7. I have a 4 cylinder chevy colorado. i have a 1500 pound bass boat. I tow all the time its rough on gas and it pulls better than i ever thought it would. I was wondering in everyones opinion am i an idiot for doing this? its a 2009 truck with 80,000 miles. Cant afford another truck anytime soon getting engaged.
  8. I love fishing the savannah river for Large mouth. Ive never heard of small mouth in the savannah river but theres alot of things no one has ever seen in that river. Ive never fished the edisto. Savannah river has excellent fishing if you know how to travel it. Crappie, Bluegill, Redbreast, Stripers, huge Cats,
  9. I actually found some scrap metal in the yard and ive welded up a swivel on the front of my boat and on the back of the boat I have a piece of metal ive bent and fabricated to were i can turn the pole to be parrallel with the boat(without haveing to take the pole out and and put in the way) and slide into the bracket on the back and it has a bolt in it I can tighten onto the pole. The kicker is im trying to find a fiberglass pole thats cheap but evective. Ive been using rebob. It works but its not practicle.
  10. Near burtons ferry and sometimes clyo. If you know were thats at
  11. Anyone on here fishing in the savannah river. Looking for some new fishing buddys and maybe starting a club type deal.
  12. Around here if your on the way to the river and you see a pasture full of cows and if they are laying down you better just go back to the house cause the fish arent wanting to bite. If you see them all standing up you better put the pedal to the metal and get fishing.
  13. Anyone know if there are anycheap rigs already out there That is a complete set up for a pole anchore. I'm about to get to work on a set up to make it quick and easy for a pole anchor for my bass boat. Its really anoying to have to float over my spot and bump the trolling motor and scare the fish off just to stay in place. But mostly i just wanna save some money. Any experiences anyone has that is not good so i can get this right the first time. Thanks
  14. It seems like the only way im gonna get one is like clakerbuzz said make my own because they don't have the contour maps unless someone with the fancy equipment makes one. My local places aren't really places the pros like to go.
  15. What lake was it you got it for? I never would have thought walmart would sell anything like that.
  16. Ok cool im gonna get to it. I also read you forum it was really good. Thanks for all the help

  20. Yes it's Hampton county bassmasters. They don't really fish around here they fish in tournaments with bassmasters. Yea the creeks are flowing with redbreast around here.I stick to lake Warren, Savannah river and all the creeks in the area erhardt to.

I love fishing for bass, Catfish, Bream or bluegill. Looking forward to maybe meeting some new fishing buddys and getting and giving help on all fishing. I'm an electrician in the counstruction field doing commercial and Industrial. So not as much fishing going on as i used to. 22. i have a couple of local lakes in my area ive been fishing for a good while now and i just started hearing about topo maps i don't know why i just started hearing about them. I was wondering if anyone knows how i can get a hold of one for my local lakes because ive looked every were it seems as if it doesn't exist. Or is there a way i can get one made? They aren't big lakes but they are state parks. Thanks
  23. I have a 1995 Mercury Black max 135. I start it and runs good for one minute. Then begins to act as if it is chocking and the smocking coming out gets heavier. It will do that for approximitly 2 min. Then it runs excelent. I'm no mechanic anyone have ideas. Fuel filters been changed spark plugs, new gas. thanks
  24. I've been wanting to club fish so bad but the only club in my area isn't really for me because the guys that are in it are more on the biggity side im more relaxed and talk to everyone i meet and treat them like family kinda person. They aren't like that. But moving on I wanna know what it would take to start a simple club not a tournament based club but just to have fun with people who love to fish and maybe put on our own local tournaments. Anyone have advice or had luck with things like this im wide open for ideas.
