  1. I love my Costa Del Mars. Best 170 bucks I ever spent.
  2. I've lost tails and pincers before and guess what? It still catches fish without them. Hooked into some of the biggest fish I have ever hooked into with 1 pincer on my rage tail chunk. Also if you are getting bluegill, perch or other smaller species taking your baits apart, put it down and pick up a crankbait and drag it through them, there has to be a bass somewhere around there that wants to eat...
  3. I prefer red shad but I will start early in the morning with Junebug and later on when the sun is setting I will go with Junebug. I really like to fish it at night, that's when I think it shines the best, especially when the moon is full.
  4. If it's straight Junebug, I like throwing in stained to muddy water on cloudy days. I like Junbug Red in the same water clarity on sunny days. They really dig the red when its sunny. Junebug works well at night too.
  5. Yea you have to get the flipping hooks, they are a thicker guage. I'll have to look into the Mustads and I also am not a big fan of Trokar hooks...
  6. I usually use power pro for flipping and pitching and I use Vicious braid for my spinning tackle. I just got some 65 lb Vicious to try for flippin. I'll let you know how it works out.
  7. I try and bend the weed gaurd down the to the hook so its almost touching it. This will help it come thru cover better without getting hung up. I try and buy models that already have the weedguard close to the hook outta the box.
  8. I thought the same way and I picked up some owner flippin hooks with the cps twist lock. I'll never t rig when flippin beaver style baits again. It has a lot more action, its actually more weedless and doesn't get hung up as much.
  9. I've been seeing a lot of skinks out so I have been throwing Zoom Lizards lately along with Yum Wooly Bugs. Although the Wooly Bugs are on a Flippin Hook.
  10. Something tells me this a farmpond and that fish is used to being handfed.
  11. With open hooks you don't need to jerk up, just lift and reel, the hook does the rest. Wacky style is my go to technique. When things are tough and I can't get a bite, I always get at least 1 with my wacky worm. When you see the line bounce or if you can feel the tick, just lift the tip to get the slack out, don't reel the slack in, lift the tip. Then start reeling. You should be reeling thru your drag for a few seconds to keep that tension and then you can play the fish normally. As far as gear, you want a Medium power, Fast to Extra Fast action. Most people use anywhere from a 6'6 to a 7'0 depending on your height and reach. I like spinning gear for wacky but there are a few people that use casting rods. Line, once again is your preference. I like braid for the sensitivity and the strength but sometimes I will switch it up with mono or fluorocarbon if the fish want a slower(mono) or faster(fluorocabon) sink. Braid for heavy cover and the other 2 for more open water. Highest I will go with braid is 20lb test. Mono and fluorocarbon I don't go over 8 lb test. Hope this helps!
  12. 1/8 oz wacky jighead(VMC or Owner are my favs), 5" Yum Dinger, whatever color you like, I like red shad. I fully believe that a wacky worm will work 365 days a year.
  13. Anything but a LIVETARGET. I love the graphics and colors of them, they are beautiful crankbaits, but the bills are pretty bad. 3rd cast, banged it against a rock and the bill broke. I like the KVD squarebills and the SK Series 1XS, 1 and 4S, not too expensive, not too cheap, just right.
  14. I'm waiting for them to get in...I really want to try them out, sick of 1 senko, 1 fish.
  15. I pull wacky rigs through cover all the time. They make weedless hooks. As a matter of fact I caught 1 yesterday bouncing it through sticks. Yes I lose plastics left and right but that's because I am too lazy to secure them with a rubberband or o ring.
  16. I have never caught anything on firetiger. Black back Chartreuse is my go to color no matter the conditions. Rootbeer Chartreuse is quickly becoming my new fav though.
  17. I am using my 7' MH St Croix Mojo Bass 'Spinnerbait" rod atm. Just ordered a 6'6 Damiki Dark Angel MHXF as my new jig and wormin rod. Can't wait to try it out.
  18. I use a baitcaster...with that said, I caught my personal best with a 1.0 KVD squarebill on a 5'6 spinning rod, although that was more of that's all I had and I knew they were on the crankbait.
  19. Wow, VA is representin'! Good to see so many anglers from VA on here.
  20. Strike King 1XS crankbait...
  21. I have the 55 lb for my brother's 11 foot jon boat. We couldn't be happier. We had an Endura C2 and you can see a huge difference between the battery life and the smooth throttle is so much better than 5 presets forward and 3 in reverse.
  22. Fish don't have rules so you shouldn't have them either. The only rule is keep your bait wet.
  23. 3/0 owner rig-n-hook
  24. paca chunk coosa special...i have fallen in love with this color for my dark colored jigs.
