  1. My condolences go out to his family. I know nobody knows me here as I rarely post, but I met Eric on another website's live chat (Bassholes). We lost touch over the last 3 or 4 years as that site imploded. We always planned on fishing together down in Pembroke pines, but never got around to it. I never actually met the man, but I got the feeling he was a good guy. Chit! Life is short guys! Don't wait for tomorrow! As I understand, he was special forces. Shoulda been in pretty good shape, but ya never know when your time is up. His family will probably never even see this??? God bless you, Eric. I'll forever be sorry that I never got to meet you. Life sucks sometimes..........
  2. I guide in Central FL, so I've seen plenty of 10# plus Bass. I was just wondering if you weigh them on an accurate scale like a Boga Grip? Nice fish none the less............
  3. I have a 3D, but am looking to purchase an older model Max rod. How do the two rods compare? Guides? Weight? Etc? Will I be disappointed if I get the older Max rod?
  4. Eric, I'm sorry, but most of your fish don't look anywhere near 10 pounds. Do you have an accurate scale like a boga grip?
  5. I guess what I find disturbing is that you picked this up, brought it home, photographed it, and then posted it on a public forum.
  6. I asked you if you were a mod because I wanted to know if you were a mod. I don't see anything unusual about my question. You seemed to jump all over the guy because he was new. I see you have over 3,000 posts and I have 35. Does post count matter? I'm just like you.......curious.....
  7. Josh, I like your style. Based on ballistics, I'm a big fan of heavy bullets. I like the 147 grain version Gold Dots packaged in the 50 round law enforcement boxes. I've never heard of or seen a 50 grain 9mm projectile like Raider mentioned?? With the 9mm rep for under penetration, an inferior bullet design would be kind of risky in my opinion........
  8. Raider, what your recommendation be for premium self defense ammo for a 9MM and one of those Satanic bushmaster machine guns? Thanks.
  9. So you have a bunch of guns with armor piercers, a pitbull that shakes till something breaks, a girl who's surgical with a 9mm, and you do steroids (Test 250)? Boys and Girls, I believe we have a genuine, American Bad@$$!!!!
  10. Ok, thanks. Wasn't sure if you knew how stupid you sounded or not????
  11. When someone sells a used reel, sellers and buyers always talk about the box/papers/etc being included. WHY? When I get a new reel, it gets put on a rod and is used for fishing. Nothing more. I have never taken a reel and put it back in the box it came in. Somebody please help me make sense of something that doesn't seem to make any sense to me...........
  12. I'd say teaching KVD how to fish a spinnerbait back in the 80's on Portage Lake. I'm also proud that I invented the Carolina Rig .
  13. Be careful not to get raccoon eyes. It will be a dead giveaway when you come in to work the next day.
  14. I think the guide NOT fishing and NOT helping the clients find what the best pattern/lure is, is a fantastic idea. I guess what the OP neighbor expected was just a boat ride/rental and let the neighbor figure it out???? Now, once the pattern/lure is established, the guide needs to BTF off, and allow the clients to do their thing and of course offer guidance IF the clients will LISTEN, which in 75% of the cases, is not going to happen. PERIOD.
  15. Obviously, you have never been a guide. I will leave it at that..............
  16. I respectfully disagree. A LOT of people are set in their ways and refuse to do what they need to do to catch fish. They're "untrainable" so to speak. They won't listen. PERIOD.
  17. I've taken clients out that didn't have the skills to catch a fish on the best of days. So does that mean they shouldn't have to pay because they suck at fishing?
  18. Just curious, what was your intoxicant of choice when you posted this?
  19. I don't know of any lakes in Riviera Beach, but I would suggest that you wear a bullet proof vest at all times while there. That's a rough place.
  20. EXACTLY! That's why pros are so "versatile". The pros with the best info network wins. In his heyday, Roland would have MULTIPLE guides out prefishing for him before a TX. LOL Please keep believing that the pros are superheros. There's literally billions of dollars riding on it!!LOL
  21. This is the best answer! It's amazing how people put these famous fisherman up on pedestals. They're NOT superhuman. Heck, some of em aren't even that good, believe it or not. It's all about marketing themselves. What makes some of you think Doug hannon is better than YOU? If he knew so much, why did he struggle so much when he repeatedly came to Stick marsh and didn't do squat? I saw it with my own eyes. The fishing world is a world of deception. Last Winter, we had the displeasure of a bunch of the FLW pros invading our little lake near Big O. Have you ever sat and watched Roland, Scroggins, Gagliardi, and quite a few others not catch jack, while "weekend warriors" whacked em? I did. The guys you see on TV are just the guys who had the financial breaks in life, whether it be a trust fund, or maybe they owned their own business, etc. Or more importantly, a good line of bull....... Don't let the marketers con you into worshiping these guys.
  22. Never seen that before..................
  23. Kevin, WD40 is not a lubricant.
  24. Are you going to quit fishing altogether, or just quit TX fishing?
