Funny how opinions can differ person to person. A 3/4 jig + trailer feels overpowered to me on my 893.

I have 894 & 893 Nrx, for 3/8 the 893 is great. Actually a very versatile stick, I have not had it long, but really like it. Unless your going to be in real heavy cover a lot, my vote is 893.

Looking to upgrade a spinning rod, and I cannot decide between the GLX or NRX. I have heard that the GLX JWR were preferred by a lot of folks for spinning, and was hoping to get some feedback from you guys. I will be using it in 8-20ft of water mostly rock and some brush. 60% 1/8-1/4 shaky head, 30% light trigs, 10% mojo rigged worms. Considering 852jwr and 822syr but wide open to other suggestions. As always, any advice is greatly appreciated.

Pro has external braking, carbon fiber handle, click drag and spool tension..etc.

Where are you located? A couple local guys do great work here.

My Boca tool had the push pin piece on the tool pop through the top of the pliers after 3 uses. I contacted Boca and they sent another one out. It is cheaply made and I would not recommend it.

Actually I didn't buy an IMX, I just used the ex6 I had. Thanks again for the help.

I hear you, $500+ for a rod is steep. My local tackle shop will order NRX for me for $475.. but I took bigfruits suggestion is his post and ended up getting the NRX for $367. At that price I could not turn it down.

Thanks for all the help guys. I love the NRX 893, and my EX6 984 worked great for all my paddletail applications. The only downside is I'm officially hooked on NRX rods!

Yeah, maybe should've kept that one under wraps haha. Several times I've been looking for something that was out of stock everywhere and they came through.

I used to.. until I threw a squarebill on a Dobyns 705CG glass. No turning back for me after that.

I like the glass, personally. The glass feels a little heavier but were talking minimal- these rods are much lighter and more sensitive than any other glass rods I have used. What gives the Dobyns Champion glass the edge is the parabolic bend and responsiveness to the fish, and they load perfectly.

X2 on the Snag Proof. They don't take on water, are durable, and color selection is more than sufficient. I used to use Spro, but grew tired of squeezing all day.

I like baby d-bombs, and lately have been using the culprit creature craw when I want to slow the fall down, both work for me.

I would think that works.. I use braid to fc on all mine except dropshot- straight fc.

I don't own any DX, only Champion series so I cannot speak to that. I use the champs for moving baits exclusively. I will say that the orochi is more sensitive than the champs. I do not find the handle to be too long at all, but of course these things come down to personal preference. If I was in your shoes, and planned to use the rod for jerkbaits 75% of the time or more, I may save the 50 bucks and get the champion.. however, if you are going to throw the tubes and other plastics quite a bit- I would be all over the orochi for the sensitivity factor. Also, not sure if cosmetics matter to you- but the orochi is a very attractive stick. Best of luck on your decision- I know how these types of decisions can drive you nuts!
