  1. Some channels based around Maine fishing or northest are north woods bassin, the bass college, Joe holland fishing and Paul mueller fishing. However if you would like to just learn how to fish certain techniques, any in depth Video will work as the mechanics of fishing that' bait is the same all around. Hope this helps.
  2. Has anyone taken advantage of the early ice here in Maine to catch some bass through the hardwater? Where at?

  7. I recently bought a Lowrance Elite7 HDI and am looking to get a lake map chip for it. My question is which chip has the best coverage and detail of the lakes of Maine? Any help or recommendations would be great!
  8. I recently purchased a Lowrance elite 7 HDI unit and am now looking to get a lake map chip for it. I have found that their are many choices and i would like to know which maps have worked the best in units similar to mine, and more importantly which has the most detailed maps and largest selection of maps for the lakes i fish here in southern and central Maine. Thanks again for all the help!
  9. the garmin sounds nice! where about in maine did you go? i ordered a lowrance elite 7 hdi a few days ago for under 600 im excited to see how it works.
  10. I always have trouble fishing rocks, are tubes the bait to use or is there down thing that works better in those areas? Thanks for the input!
  11. Hey guys I'm heading up to my camp in central maine next week to fish a lake I've never been to for smallmouth. I am wondering where I should look to find these smallies? What kind of cover and structure do they like and what works well around it? Will I find any decent fish in shallow this time of year? Also by just looking at a map of the lake what areas should hold fish? Any info would help! Thanks!
  12. Thanks for the help I guess Ive narrowed it down between getting a good sonar /gps and spending a bit more for side image combo
  13. Ok I can get a sonar gps an downscan combo in my price range do you find the down imaging useful? Also what brand do you find has the better units as far as technology?(lorance elite series or similar priced humminbird unit)
  14. Hmmm could I still effectively find schools and structure with a sonar unit?
  15. Mounting it at the console starting to get more into structure fishing off the bank.
  16. I found a new lowrance fishfinder with GPS sonar down and side imaging in my price range but with a 5 in screen. Should I get this and sacrifice the larger screen for the extra features?
  17. Looking to update the electronics on my boat an was wondering what features are most important? I will be fishing for largemouth and smallies in Maine away from the bank. Is side imaging worth the extra $$ for finding fish and structure off shore? How important is size of screen? Lastly what model fish finder do you like the best and which would I get the best bang for my buck for under 700? Any help and recommendations would be great thanks!
  18. For Which body of water? What lakes and pond in that area would you recommend? Thanks!
