  1. Hello it has been awhile sence i have lasted posted but i am always reading.Recently me and my girl friend decided it was time to leave our home ( michigan). We spent some time deciding were to go and finaly we chose Richmond Va , before we left all i could think about was " Can i hunt and fish in Va like i can at home , are there fishin holes on all sides of me?"Well we dove in head first took the drive and set up shop here in Va and so far i am having alot of fun fishing.I have actuly been able to catch more bass here then back home , i think it is due to the fact that the lakes i fish (i call them ponds , i guess cuz there so small compaird to lake saint clair) are stocked woth bass bream and catfish.I have two spots i fish at that are in apartment buildings and man i have cought the biggest bass i have ever cought in my life sence i have been here it is amazing.I broke my only good pole last week right in half on a catfish , so i been using an ultra light wich is still just as fun =)All i can think about is getting my first check and going to dicks and buying a REAl pole i have been using poles and reels from the 70's my whole life hahah.Anyway i just wanted to rant a bit on how muich fun bass fishing i have been having sence my girl doesn't enjopy my story's I have been fishing every day for 45 min + as much a si can squeeze in since the apartments are pretty much next store to the house were staying in.Well when i first found these forums i totaly stoped using live bait i just liked the idea of fake bait more for some reason and i fell in love with plastics. When i moved here and found the lake i started using live bait again just cuz i didnt know the water and i wanted to get a feel for it i guess. So the first week i was pulling out something around 30+ bream a day with in that week i cought 1 bass and 1 catfish. So that week end me and the home owner went out to this spot he knew of with some lunkers we bought some worms and headed out. When we got there he opend up his box and i seen a pack of some GULP! natrual worms ,So i ask him if i can use 1 he says sure and BOOM i get my mojo back.I have only used senko's up intill that point but now i have a new respect for the GULP! worms. He gave me the last three he had and i ended up using them upintill now ( about a week) i have 1 left but it is pretty ripped up.I get my first check monday and i plan on feeding the bait monkey heavly gonna snag a new rod and reel and as much plastic as i can afford.I was thinkin about maybe pickin up that cavitron (sp) the buzz bait i see on here. Well i didnt mean to torture any of the people that actuly do read this entire post in short i just wanted to say so far i am enjoying the 10 mile radius around the house( Richmond Va) i have been able to explore. If anyone here is from Va and maybe knows some good rivers or lakes around here Let me know!

  6. I have been doing pretty well with the t-rigged texas worm hereis how i do it. 1.The retrieve , i reel the worm in SUPER slow in fact i don't think i reel the wormk in much at all.I reel in the slack is about it 2.Movment action , i twitch my rod to the left a couple times. This is pretty much how i get the worm back to me. 3.I fish my worm weightless , always.I am kind of new to this aswell but i think i have the hang of it because i do pretty good with it.
  7. Well after reading through this post seems your question was answerd but i have one of my own.. kinda.A few days ago i lost 2 hooks and 2 senkos probly with in 30 min.I was casting at the end of some fallen tree's i fished for about 10 minutes then i got tap tap and before i knew what was going on my line was slack and both my hook and worm were gone.I blamed in on faulty knot retied one and fished the same spot for another 15 ish min.Same d**n thing happend again tap tap then nithing but slack this time my line ( mono 12lb test) was frayed and split into 3 strands.I still ticks me off not knowing what the hell happend my buddy called me a noob and said i probly got snagged but i know for sure it wasnt a snag.Makes me want to go out and buy some braid.... I also have a problem setting the hook i was out at a local gravel pit , the most insane amount of weeds it is horrid.I bought a booyah rattling jig(1/2 oz i thought it was big but buddy said it wasnt big at all) and got to break it in.I realy love this thing even tho i got skunked it is just so awsome lookin in the water.I think that and t-riggged senko are all i am going to be fishing for awhile.I didnt get snagged up one time the whole night , there was times i realy had to pull throw some weeds tho but no snags.Back to the point of hook setting , there is about a 2-3 foot length off shore before the rest is just so thick in weeds i was fishing in the water and bluegill and baby sunfish were just swarmin me.Before i left i decided to play with them a little.I through out a little jig with some fur on it , i musta got 20 million bites but i didnt hook one of them scoundrels.I think every fish i catch hooks itself , i would either rip the lure away from them or pull it clear out of the water sometimes hitting myself ;D ;D.Any tips on setting the hook? there is no reason i shouldnt have pulled out atleast 20 of those things they were all over me.If i was usin a treble hook i am sure they woulda just hooked themselves , but i know i am not a good hook setter so i wanted to practice on them. **EDIT** I forgot to mention the best part... i fished for 4 hours got nothing. This guy walks up as i am leaving and takes my spot , he pulls out a nice size pike on the first cast.BAD news , he asks me if i want to keep it.That is bad news because that is why no perch are in there anymore idiots kept them. There is no way for fish to come back into that pond you know?Ignorance.... why would anyone keep the fish from there is beyind me.
