With Thanksgiving tomorrow the holidays are just around the corner. Name a few baits or tackle that are on your wish list. I'm hoping for a new crankin rod any suggestions would be appreciated. Happy holidays to all and I hope all is well with everyone, tight lines! And happy holidays! -jonah

lol didn't see your post and I basically just typed out exactly what you said!

Crankbaits can be fished without hitting anything but will be more effective when bounced off of structure such as rocks,wood, and even weeds..if you watch how a school of shad or a single shad moves it is rarely in a straight line and bumping cranks off of structure is the best way to imitate a bait fishes erratic action. You can also use your rod to give it the same action as well as current in the water. Be sure to fish a crankbait with a depth and a lip style to match your conditions, if you do feel it snagged in weed try snapping your rod straight up to rip it out and often you will get a reaction bite soon after, try to hit the edges of weeds rather than directly through the thickets...a square I'll crank is my favorite for rocks, wood, and even grass due to it's wider body and squared lip it will roll most times rather that getting hung up. If you do get hung up bad just let it sit for a minute and often times it will float up, practice with a cheap but effective crank such as a Bomber Square A and you will catch fish, my fav colors are brown craw, apple red craw, and shad patterns... Hey guys I'm looking at getting a new rod for flipping shallow structure,docks,and swim rafts and ladders. In your opinion or knowledge will a rod with micro guides decrease the distance of my pitch or make my pitch distance and accuracy less effective? Didn't know where else to look so hoping someone has an opinion. Tight lines and hope all is well with everyone! -Jonah

Smaller presentations generally work as the cold sets in for me little shad baits, anyone else like to down some waterfowl when bass fishing is coming to a close...fall means duck and goose hunting and that's a guys best friend when he can't fish lol.

Can I throw a wacky worm for smallies in water wih virtually zero visibility if so what color would you suggest and if not what baits would you suggest I use? Thanks

Hey guys I have been hitting docks pretty hard recently and with fall righht around the corner I wanted to start using my creature baits ( havoc hawk hawgs) I have 4 colors Red bug Bama bug Bold bluegill Watermelon red I live in wisconsin and fish relatively clear water lakes with medium thickness of vegetation, what color would you suggest for the fall transition and how would you fish it as well as your set up? Ditto, bang my bomber square a's and kvd 1.5 off of docks all the time...great little baits especially bombers durability for your buck...and they catch fish

Maybe they see it as a fresh water shrimp or a small shad with pink of some sort? That's interesting.. Lake Erie being relatively clear in most locations right?

Colors of plastics like bubblegum, and neon yellow...do they catch fish and in what conditions are they to be fished?

The statement "all hooks are sharp" came into my brain a few years back...not exactly sure where from or who said it, but my point being who thinks you need the laser sharpened trokar and who is doing just vine with a cheaper hook such as laser sharp from eagle claw, I have both expensive as well as inexpensive hooks and the only difference seems to be strength when bent...thoughts?

Always wanted to go to Okeechobee but seeing karl kalonka tear up the largies and a allies pitching docks up in cabin country all Ovr Ontario would probably be the absolute dream as of now...love dock fishing jigs and plastics.

Kalins has one color that floats in their wiz if toad line up, on tackle warehouse... Check it out it's called "floating white" or something along those lines. Good luck

Be sure to not ask to blow clippings in water if here is fertilizer though, not only can it hurt the fish but weeds in the water will react to it and eventually your honey hole could be choked..happened to a lake I fish a lot. Tight lines!

Big bite baits 3.5 inch buzz toad are the same mole as the yum buzz frog, i picked up 11 bags I believe they are discontinued but you can get em on eBay I bet.

The Cleo spoons with the nude lady on the back always gave me a chuckle.

I like the havoc craw fatty or a big bite baits swimming craw, especially up around and under docks and boats.
