Might get some hate for this but I only fish two different jerkbaits LC pointers and luckestrike rick clunns but the split rings and hooks must be replaced immediately. I used to spend a lot of money on megasbass Ito's but I think the rick clunns mimic that action pretty well.

SPRO McStick is a good one

It's good, but beware of the paint. Comes off easily. I had the chrome shad color lasted about 2-3 weeks almost all the paint was gone.;( All the jerkbaits that others have listed are good I would also add the strike king KVD.

Noticed on the RES that the chrome colored baits seem to scratch and chip a lot more easily.  I fish the Blue Bandit and Old Glory, and while they have hook scratches, no problems otherwise.

+1 on the SK Kvd J300 in Ayu. Did very well in the spring with that color. Had pretty good action.

Smithwicks are great too.

Interesting. I might have to try those colors. I mean, they're great jerkbaits action and hooks are great I just had a problem with the paint. Old glory looks like a nice color.

My two favorite jerkbaits are both under $10. For shallower water and when I need a more subtle bait I use the Xcalibur EEratic shad. And for mid-depth and otherwise all purpose jerkbaiting, I like the Lucky Strike Rick Clunn RC STX, the larger size. I don't have a problem with the rings or the hooks. I've tried a lot of jerkbaits too, I have used the Mcstick, and numerous LC's including pointer 78 and 100, Staysee 90, the Slim Shad d-7 and d-9, and the flash minnow. But my favorite are the RC STX and the EEratic shad.

Edit: I'd also like to add that the EEratic shad has the same dimensions as the smithwick rogue, The EEratic shad is pretty much Xcalibur's version.

I have been very VERY happy with the SK KVD's.  They are the only "cheap" jerkbait that I have ever had that will suspend perfectly, in a nose down position, with a change to #4 Mustad KVD 1x strong/2x short triple grips, and in cold water to boot. Every other sub $10 bait I have had........... Clunn STX's, Xraps, Rouges, etc.....would take a lot of fine tuning out of the box to suspend once the hooks were changed. The only other bait I like is even cheaper than the KVD, is the Storm Twitch stick. With a change to the same KVD hooks, they suspend pretty good too. With there stock hooks however, they tend to be a slow floater. I also liked the excaliber eeratic shad, but Pradco in there wisdom quit making them when Evers jumped to megabass, and they are getting harder and harder to find. My last few were bit off a couple years ago, and I have just been using the KVD's and Storms ever since.

I haven't used the LC ones but have tried quite a lot and the Excalibur erratic shad always produces the best for me. Rogues and bomber long a and good also. The erratic shad still out fishes them for me.

I do like xraps but I have $3.00 jerkbaits that catch just as many fish.  I also have jerkbaits that cost more than xraps, they have not caught any more fish.  I'm using the lure that best suites the water I'm fishing on, more interested in the depth.  Yesterday I fished a shallow pond, the original Rapala floater worked well, my xrap went to deep.

The Storm Twitch stick is becoming a favorite of mine and it is cheap! I find the size 10 suspends pretty decent but the smaller size 8 I went with the exact same KVD Triple grips 2X short 1X strong and it suspends well now.
