Does An East Wind Kill The Fishing?
I didnt used to think much about the wind but we had a south wind the other day and I was slayin it. Then went to the same spot the next day with a north wind and got nothing. Also two days later north wind, nothing. Today no wind.... Got a few. My dad and some others have only told me about the north wind. I never heard about the east wind deal.

I Don't Understand: Bobber Stop / What Is Punching
You use the bobber stopper to peg your weight against your bait so. It stays as one piece so to speak. It prevents the bait from going on one side of a branch and the weight on the other. It allows the bait to punch through. Makes a flipping bait more like a jig.

Best Pond Tactic?
I throw frogs alot. Problem is I almost never morning fish. Almost always fish the evenings. It's not warm enough yet for frogs I don't think. Thanks for the replies! I guess I need to just figure out how to finesse fish no matter how much I dislike it.

Ponds Over Growing Weeds In Spring? Help?
If you arent confident with frogs try soft body frogs. The Rage Toad is an awesome one. I reccomend using it with a weighted swimbait hook with the spring retainer. You throw it and reel it across the top of the water with the legs paddling sort of like a buzzbait. I have had great luck with them. The weight keeps the frog from flipping over the wrong way. If you use a regular wide gap hook a lot of times it will flip over and the hook will be pointed down... Not very good for setting the hook haha although when I first started using them I did hook a few in the bottom lip. Keep working those and hollow body frogs you will start getting blow ups and when you do it will be hard to tie anything else on. The frog bite is the most exciting to me. Tight lines!

Best Pond Tactic?
Well I dont have a boat but I do have a pontoon and we have alot of public local ponds so I do a large amount of pond fishing. They are mostly old dredge ponds from gold mining days so alot of them are deep with steep banks and very clear water. Some have no cover and I dont have a lot of confidence in deep/open water, especially without electronics. Also a lot of them have huge clumps of weeds, I mean like solid from the bottom to the surface for like 20 feet. Or they will be up close to the surface of the water. Kind of limits me on what baits I can throw. Everyone always raves about shakey heads, finesse worms, etc. I mostly rely on jigs, crank baits, spinner baits, swim baits, etc. I guess what I am asking is what would your approach be and why? Here is a couple pics that kind of show what I am talking about.

Jig Fishing Questions
I just got my first two fish on a jig and I love it! Bought a swim jig but I caught them just casting it into weed beds and jigging it up and down while bearly reeling. My question is in a pond that is pretty much taken over by weeds whats a good way to fish a jig. I think I may have just got lucky haha. There is no way the jig (or anything else) could make it to the bottom around these weed beds. So should I just let it hit the tops of the beds like they are the bottom or?

And Body From The Oroville Area
Also from oroville. Since im stuck to the bank I usually fish the wildlife ponds or any other ponds I can find. Havent fished the lake much in the past few years. Well what there is left of it.... Fish the afterbay from time to time. Its so off and on.

Maybe Small But Big Payoffs?
I feel like you will catch less small fish on a bigger lure which leads people to believe that theory... My frined caught a 6 pound bass on a crappie jig like a week ago lol. So you just never know what they will hit.

Newer Bass Fisherman Needing Tips.
Honestly try senkos also. Seems like I always catch them on senkos if nothing else works. The off brands don't seem to have as much action so spend the extra 2 bucks and get the quality. Just my 2 cents.
