  1. I have a very similar boat, just longer, and anything over 20 mph takes all the fun out of motoring across the main lake. Wind direction doesn't really matter because you can find a place to fish, but a West wind can really build up some chop. I wouldn't fish Melvern the fishing isn't any good.
  2. Doesn't even let you type * on a made up website.
  3. BA fishing lessons * are hands on.
  4. The BA and I skipped La Cgyne so he could give me a lesson on the bull shad. That lesson cost me after seeing the insane blow ups that bait produced.
  5. Guys in the top 10 have one planned.
  6. I thought this would be the best option. I was going to eventually link them together. Thanks guys.
  7. You should attend one of the Thursday nighters. You can easily fish those lakes from a paddle craft.
  8. I'm thinking you'd be better off paying $19.99 to stay out of it.
  9. Couple of questions requiring opinions to follow. I have upgraded my front unit to an HDS touch from an Elite 5X, used the HDI transducer so the front is complete. Upgraded the elite 7 in the dash to an HDS touch also, though the Lowrance upgrade program. Used the HDI transducer already installed on this unit also. I have an LSS2 that I am going to install soon. Parts left over right now: brand new 83/200 transducer, two new power cables, and the elite 5x with ram mount. The plan was to sell the elite 5x with power cable and transducer that came in the bundle. 1. Should I install the 83/200 and pull the HDI during the LSS2 install? Theoretically this would make the elite 5 more attractive since it would have downscan capabilities. Just more work but seems like the right thing to do. 2. Should I leave it as is and sell the elite with the 83/200? 3. Should I install the elite and run two units in one of the locations? The elite 5x does not have an ethernet port, although the chart says it can be networked. 4. Any other suggestions. I have a Ranger RT178.
  10. 6'10" ML/XF with 8lb Invisx. I found the key to the bait is depth to run the bait. I've been wondering if it would work this time of year, sounds like squarebill was a better option.
  11. Could have slipped on that report for a couple of days or claimed it was Hillsdale. Ha
  12. Do it. I think you'll like it.
  13. or a Spybait! First time I threw it we were struggling to get a bite, then boom I went on an absolute tear with that bait. I have one of the Ned Rig kings as a witness. I have not been on a smallmouth lake since July 3rd and it was still working, even in the stained water. I need to get back out to a smallmouth lake and see how it performs in these water temps.
  14. Just being funny. Chris wanted to go there but figured it would be loaded with boats based on the pic. Surprised at your report that the lake was fairly empty.
  15. I thought he was trying to hide what lake he was on not the location. Brian took care of that.
  16. Proving size of bait doesn't equal size of fish.
  17. The blue boat was built for cedar creek. The BA forgot to report about the local throwing the green wiggle wart at cedar creek.
  18. I don't have a source for reel repair.
  19. Tips are glued on with hot glue. Heat it up with a lighter, pull it off, buy one the same size, heat up some hot glue, wipe on end of rod, twist on new guide, wipe off excess, and let cool. I've seen a kit that has 3 tips and the glue at many different sporting goods stores.
  20. Hard to beat the mojo for a $100 budget.
