Might as well replace that black and blue chatterbait with a C&C big head wobbler.

We went for a little while yesterday, mostly just to get Chris' boat in the water before the classic to check his new drain plug and confirm everthing was working properly. The wipers were in their spot but were not eating. I did snag up a arig on some braid and pulled up a bomber model A. I wouldn't go there now if you want to catch fish.

Boat registration decals...where do you go?
Call a sign shop that does vinyl letters. You can get the font and color you want and you'll ensure they are on straight. Probably cost you about $20 and they'll have them ready in a couple of hours.

They were stacked up and suspended in the the middle of the dock cove the other day.

Boat Sale Figures
Call around to some dealers or the major manufacturers and check actual sales or ask how many they built. You'll need to develop some mathematical equation to determine who is the best selling.

1st NEW boat. Looking for advice $15000-$25000
If your looking at the tracker might as well look at the Ranger RT and the Lowe. You will want to make some upgrades to the starting price, specifically you'll want to upgrade to a 24V trolling motor and charger.

Maxxum replace 5 speed with variable speed
I am going to replace my 5 speed maxxum with a variable speed. It looks like it can be done using the existing mount by pulling the two pins, removing the old, align the new, replace the pins, and wire it up. I see no reason to remove the entire mount if not needed. Has anyone done this? Anything I'm missing? Can it be done by one person?

They weren't there yesterday. I'm thinking 32 deg air temp might have slowed them down.

Did you find the shad? I went yesterday and they weren't blowing up like they were on Friday. I only caught 2 dinks.

The west ramp parking lot was full when we left on Friday. I'm thinking every lake might be full this weekend.

Change out the front hook on the KVD's to a short shank or it gets hung up on the bill.

Extended Motor Warranty
Thanks fellas. I was telling a buddy if it was $500 or $1500 it would be an easy decision. I see so many outs in the fine print, like proof it was stored properly....what?.

Extended Motor Warranty
My new motor came with a 3 year warranty, still have until July 2017 on the original 3 years. Yamaha has offered to extend the warranty up to an additional 3 years, cost for 3 years $900. I'm at 50/50 whether its worth it or not. Obviously if I break something significant it would be worth it, but I'm not planning on tearing it up either. It doesn't cover the items that would be considered maintenance like starters and impellers with 20 exclusions like improper storage, poor or improper maintenance, and freezing, etc. I did opt to extend the warranty on my ATV and never had to use it, which may contribute to my hesitation. The motor is a Yamaha F70. Thoughts? Advice? Experience?

Buying a ranger rt178. Standard electronics vs optional?
Upgrade the trolling motor and electronics for sure. Mine came already upgraded to a 70lb maxxum along with the charger and batteries and I picked out the depth finders I wanted at the dealer. I can tell you the standard 45lb would be horrible in any current or wind on that boat. I have the Yamaha F70 and loaded with 2 guys I topped out at 39 mph by GPS.

Ranger or tracker aluminum boat??
You can compare a Tracker and a Ranger aluminum all you want the Ranger will win every time. The big difference is how they are built and how they come equipped. Ranger is foamed with aluminum deck and set up ready to fish. The price of the tracker looks attractive until you figure out what needs to be upgraded. If you compare the trailer you'll even find differences in the quality. I have an RT178 and if you'd like to know more pm me.

You can always go snag buffalo, throw neds on the dam, or knock the p! out of cats with a wobbler.

I would rather fish 2hrs at wolf than 10 hours at LaCygne.
