Buzzbaits vs other Topwater lures
The only time I use other top water......is when the conditions don’t allow the use of a buzzbait.

2 color skirts - how much of opposing color?
I typically use... - 2 tabs of primary color - 1/2 tab of secondary color - Or, if I want extra bulk, a full third tab of secondary color otherwise I use 2.5 tabs of all one color.

If you cut the tail off.....The Lake Fork worm’s ribbed body gives a nice profile while on a mushroom head or shakeyhead

Wyandotte Worms Review
For dropshot.....I love this worm... After moving to the Great Lakes region a few years ago, I’ve enjoyed checking out baits and tackle that is local to the area. Among my favorites, is the Wyandotte Worm. It is a small 4” paddletail worm that is intended for Walleye, but functions very nicely as a drop shot bait for Smallmouth. Things I like about it... - smaller profile than most 4” worms - nicely buoyant, great slinky action. - $2.50 for a pack of 10. Or $5 for 20. - durable plastic with “old school” feel. I like to boil the tail side for additional action while maintaining the durability of front hook side. Things I don’t like... - color selection is fairly basic. Would be nice to see it be expanded some. All in all, great little bait, great value - Smallmouth approved.

Bandito Bug Review
Ok honestly... overall it seems a decent enough bait that I’m sure it will catch fish. It just doesn’t stand apart from other baits that will equally catch all of the same fish as it will. The design is an underwhelming attempt to sell us on adding more action. But enough about opinions... the points i do like about it.. - Rage tail like action on a beaver bait. - comes on two sizes. I always like that - the colors are nicely done and consistent The points I don’t like about it - the body is too thin, almost like a wafer. They could stand to add some bulk to it. - lack of buoyancy, appendages droop and don’t stand up. Mostly because of the high salt content, which I’m not a fan of for this type of bait - despite the clamshell packaging, the baits are still packed in there poorly with the appendages still coming out being kinked and mashed. But as I said, it’s still a decent bait, and it will catch fish. If I found one in the boat, would I rig it up and fish it? Of course, and would do so with confidence Would I feel the urge to buy more and stock up on them like a prepper before doomsday? Nope, Not at all.

What is your approximate hook-up ratio with toads ?
Above 90%... However I do run into unique trouble when fishing from shore and casting out from the back side of a weedbed, out past the edge. Once the fish fish is hooked, I have to work him through the weeds and slop to get him to shore. This will cause the momentum of the fight to stall, which slackens the tension on the hook, allowing the fish to shake free. its just something I have to deal with sometimes other than that, if I miss the fish, Then it didn’t really have it.

More Bass Chow Booger Worms
I’m just thoroughly impressed with this product. At 9” These worms exhibit the best “lifelike” action I have ever seen. Just sayin....these things are ridiculous. A fantastic addition to my worm collection.

What Have We Become ?
Dare I say.....it’s just a Bass. While I enjoy the activity of fishing for it. The Bass is certainly not a fish that warrants spending the amount of money that could take yourself and family on an international vacation. The bass fishing industry seems Intent on convincing people that they have to gear up like tournament pro angler, just to catch fish. this will help drive the prices up as well

If you only had two plano 3600's
Whenever I need to downsize, I simply start primarily with my most consistently productive baits, under most conditions, for that time of year...then...add a few “just-in-case” baits, for the possibility of unexpected circumstances. Like thicker vegetation that wasn’t there last time, etc.

I’m over the salt
Yeah, actually Tom, it has been my experience that all Yamamoto baits are inundated with salt in the plastic. At least those on the market today. if you happen have some that do not, please share. But if I have preference to stay with the brand that I like, and like the design of their bait over others....then I’m SOL. which is exactly why I’m over the salt. I’m most baits, except for those fished weightless, The salt serves no real purpose, impedes a bouyant presentation, and makes soft plastics even more fragile than they would be without the salt. btw..keitech swimbaits are a sinking baits? Please explain.
-
I’m over the salt
Are there unsalted keitech swimbaits out there? Does Yamamoto make any unsalted hula grubs? Does zoom make any unsalted chunk trailers?
-
I’m over the salt
Yes....when fishing weightless. but when every other craw and creature bait loaded with salt, that goes on a jig, shakeyhead, or Texas rig....the salt becomes mostly irrelevant
-
I’m over the salt
Me personally, don’t mind salt in the package. instead I don’t like baits with droopy appendages and droopy tails, because of the salt content inside the plastic not to mention, the compromised durability that the addition of salt into the plastic contributes to

I’m over the salt
Ok, for the record, I give Senkos a pass because the salt in a senko is an integral part of the baits function. I’m ok with that
