  1. Same here. I simply adjust my retrieve as needed, and hence I don't really notice any instance being more easy or difficult than others....and of course, the fish have been fairly satisfied.
  2. Agreed... Where I fish, I am always finding cut line in the water, on the ground, in the trees, etc. Ive certainly gotten snagged on the discarded line of others plenty of times. This practice of cutting line, is disgraceful, and quite frankly, its another form of littering. I get the hunch that this is done by folks who lack experience.
  3. Swim jig in White, Smoke, & Some Bluegill derivative. - Preferred Trailers: Mr, Twister FAT 5" curly grubs, Keitech FAT 3.8", Action Plastics Super Mag grub. Football Jig in Black & Grn Pumpkin - Preferred trailers Rage Craw, Zoom Super Speed Craw, Super Chunk, Craw Bug, Ugly Otter.
  4. Hmmm....never had any backlash caused by excessive lure weight.
  5. Agreed, and to be honest, when I actually weighed my baits on a kitchen scale, I found that I was going over the weight ratings more often than I realized. The rod still performed fine.
  6. I get conflicting information about this, so I will ask it here. What is the importance of a rod's "lure weight?" Is it simply a weight range that casts best?.......or does it also denote some measured limitation for structural damage?
  7. Just stumbled across this thing. I think the shape of this is getting me a little percolated. But Im guessing its crappy, since it came out in 2010, and doesnt appear to have survived.
  8. I for one have not yet gained an appreciation for of that style of bait. But for those of you who are a fan of the Ika...What say you about this comparison?
  9. It has my curiosity, but I cant seem to find any decent underwater video of this thing anywhere. Do any of you have any experience with this bait? Im interested to know how it swims/falls. What is the action from the claws like?
  10. Thats ok. Ive long been in the practice of not buying something, unless Im actually sure about it. If does not have any extra durability, then I can simply just use a finesse worm, or similar, instead.
  11. I find yard fishing to be essential, particularly during any "off-season."
  12. It was the thickness and density of the eggsack which caught my attention, and led me to wonder if the worm were whacky-rigged through the egg sack, that it may lend itself to some better durability. But it seems I may be wrong.
  13. Good to know. I think I'll pass on them then.
  14. Fragile. really? It seemed like that chunk center portion would've made it more durable than other worms of similar size.
  15. Any toughts on these? They seem like a fair finesse whacky application.
  16. Either of those rods will suit your needs for simplification just fine.
  17. Sounds acceptable. Thanks for the math.
  18. Ohhhhhhhhh....Ok
  19. But is the hook point exposed or still skinned in the bait? If exposed, isnt that counterproductive to fishing heavy cover?
  20. This is a foreign concept to me. Never seen, or heard of, flipping with a straight-shank hook before. Only offset hooks of some kind. Ive seen straight shank offsets used, but not like the ones mentioned here.
  21. Agreed, it doesnt seem that drastic. Now that I know there exists reels geared for 9.1. I havent found the IPT yet, but I would suspect not much more than an additional 4-6 inches. We shall see.
