  1. I just put my Lews tournament mg on a micro magic and Its awesome. My dad has curados, Lews for me. The lews reel and its handle feel much better in your hand than a curado, and they are smoother than a curado in my opinion. One of my pops curados has a pawl that is already worn and needs to be replaced, I am much harder on my reels and my lews just gets better as it breaks in. When you first buy a lews it will feel dry because it is, keep putting oil on it as directed and I swear it will keep getting better. I throw weightless senkos, 3/8 spinnerbaits, texas and carolina rig worms and this rig is phenomenal. I can literally balance it one finger. This rig is so smooth due to the reel in conjuction with the alconite micro magic guides. Hope this helps, im confident you will really like a any Lews paired with a micro magic. I hear the BB1 and tourney pro are better and smoother than the tournament mg (mine)
  2. Can anyone recommend a sturdy well built spinnerbait brand that wont fall apart after catching 2 or 3 bass or after a few grass burns. The booyaah spinnerbaits ive been having so much luck on is a great lure however they just don't hold up well at all!!!
  3. I recently purchased a 7 MH duckett micro magic and put my Lews tournament MG and I love it, cant stand putting it down. This rig is very light, cast very far and probably the most notable feature is its smoothness during lure retrieve, the alconite guides paired with lews smoothness is simply hard to beat. Try it... You will love it!!!
  4. Really could use some help on an entry level unit under 250? Any suggestions would be greatly greatly appreciated!!!
  5. beautiful fish congratulations looks about 4.5-5.0lbs.
  6. I just bought a duckett micro magic and I would buy another in a heartbeat, I really am pleased with it. If ducketts didnt exist I would probably get a St Croix or a Falcon Cara. Falcons cara is a wonderful rod, really really nice! And St Croix is a great rod made by a great company.
  7. Personally I just purchased a duckett micro magic 7 MH a week ago and Its awesome, just awesome. The 13 rods are really good based on what I researched. I went to a tackle shop today and held a *** today and it was really nice, but I wasnt crazy about the handle and trigger placement. I read, researched and read more before purchasing my micro magic and I will tell you there are alot of good rods out there, its best to just go and look at them and hold them so see what feels the best to you..
  8. Recently purchased a Duckett Micro Magic 7 MH, its a great rod and by default very sensitive, but I think it has the potential to be more sensitive if I switch to more sensitive line. Im currently using 12lb stren monofilament and could use some suggestions on a better more sensitive line. Thanks for all the help
  9. I personally just bought a duckett micro magic 7 MH, Its the best rod I have ever used personally, but I will say that I have never heard one bad thing about st Croix rods, I think they are great rods based on my research!! Hope this helps.
  10. I lost one at the boat due to line break that was easily a 9 or 10 pound fish, Went back to the camp and didn't even talk the rest of the night. Then again its Toledo bend and there will be plenty more opportunities, its a grieving process!!
  11. I just got a 7MH duckett micro magic paired with a lews tournament mg and I really like it.
  12. Im wondering just how embarrassed her poor husband feels, you talk about "never going to hear the end of this"
  13. Beautiful bass, I cant even begin to imagine that the world record 22lb fish would look like!!!!
  14. This is a monster!!!! http://www.louisianasportsman.com/details.php?id=7062
  15. Purchased a 7' MH Duckett Micro Magic last week and I really like it, balanced, sensitive feels great and allows me to cast much farther than before!!
  16. Taking the plunge from mono to Flurocarbon and could really use some help. Using a lews tournament mg and duckett micro magic casting rod for small spinnerbaits, texas rigs, Carolina rigs, and the occasional senko. Fishing Toledo bend where the monsters lurk and Im thinking at least 14lb would be sufficient just need brand recommendations. Thanks in advance.
  17. Just bought a duckett micro magic and Im blown away by it. Great rod at 150.00$
  18. I would find a veritas on sale, if you can get your hands on one somewhere you will understand why. They are really good rods and they feel wonderful in your hands. Like I mentioned before, allstar is a good choice, I just bought one and I like it a lot for 50 bucks!!!
  19. Mine would be the senko in watermelon red flake, I have had more luck with these than anything else in the 30 years ive been bass fishing. 1st runner up would probably be a white spinnerbait
  20. Im doing the same thing, buying new rods like you are and so far Ive purchased a allstar classic 7' mh from academy for 49$ and Im pleased with it. Plan on buying a duckett ghost next.
