Falcon Bucco Or Falcon (Jason Christie) Series.
Is the Falcon Bucco a pretty descent rod at the 100 pricepoint? Is there a big difference between the Jason Christie Sig Series Falcon line and the Bucco?

Best Fluorocarbon For The Money?
I started a thread asking the same question and sunline sniper was the most recommended. I tried it and Im amazed at how good sunline sniper FC is. Its soft and manageable like stren mono, with the added benefits of a great fluorocarbon line. The only precaution I would suggest is to constantly "hand-pull" test your knots integrity before making cast and fishing. Hope this helps...

Duckett Ghost Vs Abu Vertas 2.0
Both great rods. Based on feel I would say the duckett ghost is lighter and probably a litter better balanced.

Need Help Picking A Rod To Pair Up With My Lews Tournament Pro
I recently paired a duckett micro magic 7 MH with my lews tourney pro and its awesome, Im really pleased with it. Lightweight, balanced and really smooth due to the reel and the alconite micro guides on the rod, it also cast better than anything else in my 30 years of bass fishing. I like how duckett rod tips "load up" the weight of the lure and fire them with little effort on my arms and shoulders. Its similar to a bunting motion in baseball. If you try one I think you will be pleased.

Best Fluorocarbon For The Money?
I recently posted the same thread asking about fluorocarbon and based off the results I purchased Sunline Sniper and I cant imagine better fluorocarbon. Its has the same qualities of mono with the benefits of fluorocarbon. Great line.

After Market Reel Knobs
I really like the high end soft lews knobs, until I found out from lews that they were 70$ dollars for a new set.

Went For A Boat Ride - Powered By A 38.5Lb Grass Carp
Now that you mention it, Monday I hung a 10lb striped bass and that's just too much fish for me. That thing pulled me, my boat, my drag and then it ripped my heart out when I realized it wasn't a largemouth and just another dose of my mistake luck!!! Beautiful fish, I just laughed and released the thing!!!! Good ole spinnerbaits... You can catch anything on em.

With Today's Bass Fishing Technology, Is There Any Place For An Old School Reel Other Than Cool Factor?
I would simply make sure the worm gear and pawl work correctly before purchasing, it wouldn't cost much to fix either of the two but that's two less things you will need to fix if they are working correctly. Im hearing lots of stories that older rods and reels are quickly becoming collectable antiques so hang on to what you got.

With Today's Bass Fishing Technology, Is There Any Place For An Old School Reel Other Than Cool Factor?
I recently fished an old abu Garcia 5000 "red" off the bottom of the lake, apparently the water protected the reel from rust. I cleaned it up, lubricated it and im currently using it just as much as my newer reels and im pretty happy with it. Great reel, more powerful, more open so I use it primarily for spinnerbaits and jigs matched up with a 7' MH all star graphite rod.

Braid Question??
14lb sniper fluorocarbon, now that you mention it I didn't rety my knot between catches so that may be the culpurit. Im basically running and burning 3/8 ounce spinnerbaits through submerged hydrilla and pepper grass. My lews has a 14lb drag and im using 14lb fluorocarbon, so I guess my question would be what is the correlation between the reels drag weight and line weight? How does that factor in?

Braid Question??
On two separate and recent occasions I got my line snapped and heart broke by two different bass I know were in the neighborhood of 10 pounds. One snapped my fluorocarbon and the other snapped my monofilament line, both occurred on deep water humps slow rolling a spinnerbait. Thinking of going to braid to prevent this from happening again and could use some suggestions. I use a duckett micro magic 7 MH paired with a lews reel throwing Spinnerbaits and topwater . What would be a good braid?

Diawa Tatula Or Lews Speed Spool?
I cant speak for the tatula however I have read astonishing reviews on them, I do however own a lews tournament mg on a duckett micro magic and its a great rig. I really like the lews, its very smooth, cast great and it feels so natural in my hand and the handles feel more comfortable to me than any other brand reel handle. You wont go wrong on either reel, both are great buys.

Anyone Else Sometimes Not Catch Anything?
Welcome to Bass Fishing 101, getting skunked!!! It happens to the best of fisherman so don't get discouraged!! Bass fishing is a life long sport with a life long learning process and that's what makes it so great. If it were easy to go out and catch tons of fish everytime then it probably wouldn't be much fun. Ive been bass fishing for 30 years now and am considered to be a pretty good fisherman and I still have plenty of trips with little to no luck at all . Don't get discouraged keep working at it, research, study lake maps and read about seasonal patterns and seasonal techniques, talk to other anglers and find out whats working and what is not!!!

Veritas 2.0
All rods from all brands break... That's just the trade off or maybe risk/reward we have to take in order to have light, sensitive rods. I would just shop for brands with good exchange/warranty policies and take great care of the brands you do choose to invest in. I don't own one, but the BPS carbonlites have a "no questions asked" exchange policy for broken rods. I consider that a pretty good policy!!

The Most Sensitive Rod Money Can Buy
Everytime I look into buying a new rod, reel, fishfinder, bait, or whatever it maybe, im overwhelmed with how complex things have gotten in my 30 years of fishing... Best advice I can give anyone is try to stay with the new trends and technologies because if you step out for just a moment...BAM!!!! your lost!!!! I just hope all the new fisherman who have taken on this great sport will practice catch and release and other good conservation methods!!!

Quick Tw Question: Duckett Casting Rods
You will love it I have the duckett micro magic 7 MH (casting) on a Lews tournament mg and I absoloutely love it, very smooth light weight rig. You will not be disappointed, if you can wait to October the new micro magic pros will be out and this revised version will eliminate all the problems the first series had.
