How To Perfect My Set-Up
don't know what happened there, but that setup is perfect for any weightless plastic, double fluke rigs, dropshotting, shakey heads, finesse jigs, smaller jerkbaits, smaller cranks, small spinnerbaits, spybaits, really anything finesse oriented.

you'll be able to launch that Senko for days. It weighs 3/8 oz, right in that rod's sweet spot.- Majorcraft Vokley 69Ml Bfs
Yeah, you really need help. I haven't employed the wife to do it yet, either.- Which Bearing Is Better?
Yeah, but the less friction, the better. If you were to put a small cup on the end of the perfect to for a certain bait (like a lacrosse stick), and then put that bait in there without any line, or reel for that matter, and casted it, it would fly much further than what it ever would tied to a reel. That's why super slick ceramic guides, ultra precise ceramic bearings lubed as lightly as possible, and light, slick line are so important when it comes to casting distance. The more you reduce friction, the further it flies. Obviously the aerodynamic properties of the bait itself plays a role, so will a spinnerbait with 5 blades fly much further with upgraded bearings? Probably not substantially. Will a lipless crank? Absolutely. We all agree that the ease of casting improves, so with the appropriate bait, so will distance. It's science. I can totally science a plug across the lake now- Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
- Spinbait 90
I like to go as heavy as I can because I can't stand losing $14 baits. I'm giving 20# braid a shot next time with a spinbait 80.- Spinbait 90
Man, i think it will work fine if you use a snap instead of a terminal knot. That way line diameter doesn't affect the shimmy of the bait.- Does Anyone Else Care About Aesthetics Of A Combo?
Actually there's some green on a rod I just got that I never noticed in the pictures. It's a nice emerald green like that nrx in between the rod specs and first guide. The reel I have on it is metallic silver so it looks pretty nice.- Does Anyone Else Care About Aesthetics Of A Combo?
I stand corrected. Those are sharp.- Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
Wow, you can tell everyone's TW order was late! Anyway, here's how I got away from the labor day sale.- Does Anyone Else Care About Aesthetics Of A Combo?
take the combo in my profile pic, for instance. A brown Silaflex with that pewter blue Lexa? Hideous. It got the job done and then some until I moved on to better things that just happened to be more esthetically acceptable.- Does Anyone Else Care About Aesthetics Of A Combo?
that said, if tatula reels were fuscia pink and rods were olive green, I'd still fish the heck out of em.- Does Anyone Else Care About Aesthetics Of A Combo?
One thing about it, most tackle does jive together pretty well. That's one reason why you don't see any more green curados. God, what were they thinking?- Which Bearing Is Better?
I wasn't knocking you or anything. I just figured that bocas and hedgehog bearings being superior was the one thing that everyone could agree on. Your comment just made the argument all the more concrete. Tight lines to you, sir.- Which Bearing Is Better?
That's true. Can't wait to try out a 100% Al oxide or SiC bearing! Those would absolutely spin and last forever.- Bait Monkey Bit Me
I will say that those super casters are a rarity and may actually be worth something one day as a curiosity. Like dust jackets in back to the future 2.- Which Bearing Is Better?
Well, since bocas and kattobis are both ceramic, i didn't feel the need to point it out, but you're absolutely right.- Who Makes Your Favorite Spinning Rod?
man, I can't say it's my favorite because I've never even handled one, but based on the bfs rod, the Major Craft spinning rods are probably stellar. K guides, nice handles, ultra sensitive blank, and you'll save some cash without compromising quality. Plus it's something cool and unique that you don't see everywhere. At least not yet. I could see that company taking the USDM by storm and they're on their way.- Bait Monkey Bit Me
one word: t-wing- Majorcraft Vokley 69Ml Bfs
The XUL is labeled regular, the UL and L are labeled Regular Fast, and the ML is labeled XFast. I'll post a pic later, but the 68L has what I consider to be a fast action. Definitely on the fast side of reg fast. I'm anxious to see the taper on the 69ML to see what the difference is.- Majorcraft Vokley 69Ml Bfs
Are they gonna be USDM? The rods they have on TW may be decent, but they're definitely not in the same caliber as the volkeys even though they're almost as much.- Majorcraft Vokley 69Ml Bfs
Right on. That's what I'd prefer on a basic bass rod, anyway. Still need a medium jig rod to round out my collection. The big lake series rods have double footed k guides all the way up the blank. Not sure what that's about. That's some heavy duty stuff. Meant for sharking or something, I guess. Lake sharks, lol.- Rods With Broken Off Tips: Still Useable?
pssh... Just buy a steez.- Siebert Dock Rocker Jigs
Got my prize from Mike Siebert in the mail today. Haven't got to fish them yet, but I can't wait! These things are truly works of art. Almost too pretty to fish. I already know I'm gonna be a diehard Siebert fan now. Okeechobee craw with a sapphire head and Gamakatsu heavy wire hook A black/blue with an Owner cutting point hook A PB&J with an owner cutting point hook An Okeechobee craw with a green pumpkin head and owner cutting point hook And, my favorite, a blue craw with green pumpkin head and owner deep throat cutting point hook. That hook is MEAN. All wire tied skirts and great brush guards and paint. Thanks again, Mike! - How To Perfect My Set-Up
