G. Loomis IMX Pro for small poppers
I am looking at the IMX Pro MBR 6'6 Medium and IMX Pro 6'8 Medium Topwater for throwing small poppers like the Megabass Pop-x and Rio Rico. Line will be 30lb braid. Does anyone have experience with these rods? What would you recommend? Also open to other rod suggestions

Suggestions for topwater, jerkbait, crankbait rod
Check out the Kistler Crank rip twitch rods. I have the 6'9 MH that is extremely versatile. I throw jerkbaits, cranks, spinnerbaits, swim jigs, chatterbaits, poppers, spooks, and whopper ploppers on mine. I throw 10-12lb mono or fluorocarbon for jerkbaits and cranks. 12-15lb mono for poppers. 18lb fluoro for spinnerbaits and chatterbaits. and 30lb braid for spooks and ploppers

What rod would you recommend for jerkbaits?
6'6 Medium Kistler KLX Crank/Rip/Twitch. It is rated as a mod/fast but is actually fairly stiff with a good amount of tip to cast and work a jerkbait. This rod is also good for small crankbaits, poppers, and finesse plastics.

1 piece 6ft UL
I am in search of a 6ft 1 piece UL for crappie fishing. My budget is $150. I plan on using this rod for casting road runners and maribou jigs. Any recommendations?

Bigger Poppers = Bigger Bass?
In my experience, small poppers will get more bites and will catch the big ones as well. I like the 1/4oz yellow magics and pop x

Daiwa Tatula Grinding Sound When Casting
Likely a spool bearing that is bad or in need of cleaning. To fix, try soaking the spool bearings in simple green or lighter fluid. Spin them dry and listen for a grinding noise. If you hear a grinding noise, try to soak the bearing again. If you can't get the bearing to run smooth I recommend looking into Boca Bearings for a replacement set.
