  1. Submit some to BR! You may not get paid for it, but you'll help lots of people learn how to fish, and that's what it's all about. I just submitted my third article, which hopefully will get published soon. You can see my other ones here: http://www.bassresource.com/fishing/how-to-bank-fish.html and by searching, "Why we fish" on BR. I've had lots of people PM me telling me they appreciated and learned from what I wrote. I love sharing my passion about bass fishing, and I will continue to submit them. It's the best feeling in the world knowing you've helped someone catch fish or get back into the sport. You can learn more here: http://www.bassresource.com/fish/article_submission.html
  2. I cannot wrap my mind around why you would retire a reel. I applaud your fish catch, but that reel should be a tool, not a showpiece. Heck, it might even help you catch one bigger than that! Do yourself a favour and fish with it again .
  3. A: Private waters B: California C: Japan
  4. None of my guys made it to the top twelve, but all in all I'm okay with how it worked out. Ended up in 94th percentile, it may drop again after tomorrow. I'm already doing my homework for the chesapeake bay, looking forward to that one.
  5. Pretty hilarious moment today in BASS Live. The fun starts at 2 hours, 18 minutes, and 40 seconds here on the archive from today: http://www.bassmaster.com/video/bassmaster-live-st-lawrence-river-presented-lowranceand ends at 2:20 15. The guys on the chat started calling me "meatloaf" and then my family started calling me it, so I guess it's offical, I have a new nickname lol.
  6. I guess I'll hijack my own thread and congratulate you on the nice saltwater fish vids you put up. Looked like you had a great trip.
  7. I consider SK crankbaits the best bang for your buck in bass fishing. They're awesome fish catchers and don't cost that much.
  8. Everybody knows soda is terrible for you, but all the same I thought this article was interesting: http://www.apextribune.com/infographic-coca-cola-effects-on-our-body/27559/ Especially the part that says it has some of the same effects as heroin. Scary stuff lol
  9. By "some" soft plastics, what do you mean? If you haven't had a chance to check out any Rage Tail products yet, you need some in your life. Trust me, they are staples in my tackle box and have caught most of my big fish this year. I'd start with some Rage Craws and Cut'R worms, amazing products.
  10. Nice job, man. Senko all day!
  11. When I first started teaching myself to pitch, I didn't know to turn down the spool tension and brakes, so I couldn't pitch far at all. I finally realized I needed to back down on them and since then I can pitch pretty far. But to me, pitching isn't a technique for distance. For every 5 feet you add past a normal pitching distance, it takes more and more effort to land the bait quietly and accurately. Pitching is for accuracy, and if I need distance, I do a "roll" cast, or short underhand cast.
  12. I would love love love to have a kayak, but I don't know if I want to shell out the money for one. I keep scouting around on Craigslist looking for a cheaper one. I have a reservoir 5 minutes away from my house that you're not allowed to bank fish at or fish with a gas boat. It's the perfect place for kayaking, and I would love to get into it.
  13. This is a pretty awesome look at the way SK crankbaits are made:
  14. Like the other dude said, fishing is my break. When I'm feeling sad, mad, depressed, you name it, I go fishing. It's got some therapeutical qualities for me, I guess. It's good to get alone and think or pray. Of course, I like fishing for catching fish, but it also has that calming effect on me
  15. Things went to my liking today. Stephen was my only angler who didn't make it, while Pipkens (22nd), JVD (24th), Pirch (28th), and Andy Montgomery (42nd) did quite well. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for them making it into Sunday, but I'm getting good points. Funny thing is, I dropped from 95.4% to 95.3%
  16. Seems like a lot of people like either White Python or their Bass color.
  17. You made me feel bad now lol
  18. Having fun on TW during BASS live:
  19. ^ Not everybody else! Mine's not doing too bad, I actually increased tonight from 95.0 percentile to 95.4th percentile lol. Hey I'll take what I can get. I'm really expecting a rally from JVD he said he thought he could catch them a lot better and was disappointed. Also hoping Kennedy will make the cut, of course along with everybody else. I'm pretty sure JVD, Pipkens, and Pirch will make the cut.
  20. Pretty sure that's the same fish. Cool!
  21. You could also try rigging up a lawn mower to the back, I thought of that today.
  22. Ding Ding Ding! We have a winner! Randomest thing ever, dude.
