  1. Justin sent me a package of baits a while back, including some senkos done up like this. Still using and catching fish on them, the tubing makes the bait last 3x longer, if not more.
  2. I'd be fishin' a Rage Toad or some buzzing toad.
  3. Palomar with braid always straightens or breaks the hooks for me, never breaking the knot. Strong stuff!
  4. Love me the Ned Rig. Staple in my tackle box now. I just need some more jigheads b/c docks ate up my box of three. And I feel like some weedless ones would be really nice, but they aren't coming out for a while. I don't mind them for grass, but wood eats them up like candy lol. But on a relatively clean bottom they are killer for me.
  5. Such a beautiful gar! Nice bass as well.
  6. Maybe Hydrowave or Livingston should come out with the "rock chunk" sound, programmable along with "baitfish" and "crawfish." In fact, I bet that would really help Randy Howell win another classic.....
  7. I love fishing buzzbaits in the rain, one of my favorite ways to fish.
  8. I decided to bet on some dark horses for a couple of guys. Regretfully, I took Brandon Palaniuk and Tommy Biffle off, and I replaced them with Stephen Kennedy and Andy Montgomery. Stephen placed 7th last time, and Montgomery placed 22nd, so I feel pretty good about betting on them. Looking forward to the event!
  9. In that case, like Flyfisher said, I'd try to let them wear themselves out before they get close to the boat. Put your rod tip in the water and let them struggle. They won't jump as much then when you get them close to the boat.
  10. Seems to me that most people either love them or hate them. I'm just fine with Yamasenkos myself, but actually prefer Yum Dingers. Can't say much for grub fishing, but in general, I like Yamamato baits, I just don't think they're the cat's meow.
  11. Oh my, that's a big fish! I'd say a solid 9. Nice!
  12. Are you fighting the bass on tight line, aka, not giving them slack? Are they jumping and physically shaking the hook, or is it just popping out?
  13. Roboworms and KVD dream shots, or just some Zoom 4.5 inch finesse worms. I'd recommend green pumpkin, maybe with a chatreuse tail. Try the VMC Spinshot hooks, I really like them. Don't know what weights you've tried, but 1/8 oz. for spinning and 1/4 oz for casting are staple trig weights for me.
  14. Nice fish, man! Great job. I like the clear/shallow mix, looks pretty sick....especially for throwing senkos lol
  15. Yes, they're amazing! Especially the 9 pound bass sucking in and out crankbaits without Homer feeling anything........
  16. Yeah there's a golf course right across the street from my house, and one time my friends and I were looking for golf balls in the woods when we saw a monster bass erupt on a pair of mating dragonflies hovering over the surface. Ever since then, I've wanted to fish it, but they denied me permission when I called .
  17. -My rods (DUH) -My tackle (believe it or not, I've actually left it at home) -Scissors and pliers, which I'm notorious for leaving. -Water bottle and snack, which I forget a lot as well.
  18. If I had a boat and depth finder, I would find someone to teach me or teach myself to fish deep. Something I really can't do in my ponds or from the banks of the lakes in my area. It would be a learning experience and it'd probably take me a long time to get good at it, but I know there's fish out deep, I just have never really fished for them. I'd say: go for it!
  19. Ask the owner not to turn the fountain on....... Seriously, I have no idea. That's an interesting problem.
  20. The contrast between the Savage 16 inch trout and 1 inch nymph was pretty awesome. I liked the customization that *** is going to be adding to their reels. I liked the Livetarget sunfish. I didn't feel like anything earth-shattering came out, but it was pretty cool.
  21. I put single tail grubs on the back of mine, matching the color of the buzzbait. It adds extra action and appeal, and I believe it results in more hookups. Also, I like waking my buzzbaits with the blade just touching the surface, and I think it helps doing that because there's more underwater appeal.

    Another vote for the Booyah
  23. Honestly, it's probably a lot more to do with the dock and bass living under it than it is the color. Experimentation might pay off, though, you never know.
  24. Watch, you'll throw it out and catch a 30 pound catfish! Lol you've been catching so many of them.
  25. I use 30 and find it pretty ideal myself.
