INstall an automatic bilge switch/pump as soon as the boat enters the water it will start pumping out water and you will know you forgot the plug before you leave the trailer. Ask me how I know....

I was pretty disappointed with Bassmaster Academy. A lot of the video's are old and a lot of them are pretty short. I can get better for free elsewhere. I'd save your money.

So none of you guys set the hook with enough force to rip a fish from cover? Never set the hook so hard the fish comes out of the water? I bet you don't use treble hooks either? Don't want one of those crank baits swiging around and hooking the fish in the gills, back, or side. Zoom down the lake with a livewell full and let them pound around in there? I thought we were bass fishing. Not trout fishing.

I fished it...hmmm..twice last year. Both times it was very windy. Caught a few off the docks on the south end. And 1 from some pads. Lake itself is pretty shallow. So be careful running around. I believe they stock pike in their too. You can look at the contours on navionics web app.

I'll be hitting Candlewood this year for the first time. I'm pretty excited about it. How's the boat ramp work? I hear you have to pay to launch your boat? Is the parking area pretty secure? Any issues leaving your vehicle at the ramp?

I was fishing in 4-10 feet of water. Slow rolling. Just trying to keep it above the weeds. Silver large willow leaf and a small Callorado. Water temps were 48-49 degrees. 2-3 foot visability in the water.

Please don't wear cotton when it's cold out. Wear a synthetic(or wool) wicking first layer. Cotton will just hold that moisture against your skin. Not what you want.

I went out yesterday from 9 a.m. till about 2. wind chill was from 20-30 degrees. Threw a white and red spinner bait all day. Caught a few 2+ largemouths and bunch of pickeral.

After watching numerous, as in every, profesional make the comment "It's a huge one!" then get it to the boat and say "Not as big as I thought.". I'm not sure you can tell from how it 'feels'. If the guys that do it for a living can't tell. I'm sure I can't either.
