  1. Me too on the line OCD. That KVD line cond helps a lot with that.
  2. Here to sell it, but I am finding out they go for diddly. I thought I might have something, but not.
  3. Are there any people on this forum that collect older Shimano baitcasting reels? I have a older 80s version Shimano Bantam reel I would consider selling. Its in near perfect shape. The guy I got it from said it was spooled up once for one trip and he made only a few casts with it. It looks brand new. I'll send pics if anyone may be interested. Thanks, Chris
  4. I agree with the shorter rod in the 6'8" range especially if you are fishing from shore. Longer rod will just get hung in hanging limbs, etc.
  5. Might want to try putting a rod balancing system on your rod's butt and see how that helps. It works great for T-riggin where your rod is always in the 9-12:00 position. For a jerkbait application I am not so sure it will help though. I just take 1" platic end caps bought at any hardware store, add brass weights or quarters in the cap..slip on and you are done. I'm surprised nobody mentioned that yet.
  6. I think all 3 would work fine. I have not used Tatsu and don't plan to. InvizX seems a little more limp than AbrazX. All work well if you really take the time to tie a good knot and wet it.
  7. I've been using AbrazX & InvizX. Buy it online from Walmart and have it shipped to store for free. Paying only about $18/spool compared to $23 at bps or Cabelas. It's been working for me.
  8. I just started fishing the 6'9"MH Smoke micro guide rod and it does great. I guess it depends on where you fish and what you fish out of. I throw senkos 75% of the time on 10-12# Seaguar fluoro on this 6'9"MH rod and don't feel I need anything more. When rod companies claim their rod balance out with a reel that's a bunch of b.s. I've never felt a casting rod that is actually balanced at the rod handle. On avg, it takes around 2 ounces of weight in the butt to reach a perfect balance on a 6'6" - 7' casting rod.
  9. The CX was awesome for low light senko fishing when you gotta be able to see your line. Stuff would glow, but it probably did the same under the water. Still looking for that Seaguar quality line for a Floroclear price..might be looking for awhile.
  10. Yes, good stuff. I spray it on my reels, sunglasses, guides.
  11. Darren, is Floroclear anything like CX Premium? I've had bad bad issues with CX snapping on the hook set in 12# & 15# if I can recall. I've avoided trying Floroclear because of this.
  12. I agree with the 6'6" preference. They get heavy when you go 7' and up.
  13. Thanks for the info on the Berkley rod. The Lightning & Lightning Shock rods are super heavy for today's standards. Have any idea when stores will have them in stock?
  14. I had the PQ Tournament reel in the black cherry looking finish, but sold it. I regret it now they are hard to find. That was the smoothest reel I've ever owned by far. I'm afraid the new white Carbonlite might chip real easy. I have one white reel and the paint chips super easy. I am thinking about the new Carbonlite reel on a Veritas II rod..nice
  15. I have yet to get a Carbonlite rod, but I do have last year's Carbonlite reel in the flat gray finish. It is solid as a rock. I have the new Extreme Lite too..it is junk, but I have taken it apart and supertuned it and its 100% better now.
  16. Have you guys seen the Berkley E-motion rods for $79? I'd like to hold one before buying. Berkley's action seems to be on the light side. They look really nice though. Oh, and I'm new to this site..I forgot to share that.
  17. They are nice looking, but for that much I'm going with a Abu Veritas II Winch in a sec. In the $120 range there are so many options. I do like BPS reels you can't beat the price on them.
