Right now the bass should be moving shallow and feeding in preparation to spawn. Now there have been several fronts so this will probably scatter them from their normal patterns.

Yep, that's exactly what he said in my thread, and I've got too see, I bet he is right too. And Cabela's usually has good dependable gear with good warranties. Here is the thread I started a while back with some helpful information from others as well.

Yeah unhooking snappers is no fun. Caught one or two and they are quite feisty.

Good to hear it's not exactly what I though it was... That would have really killed you're fishing. If it were me i would toss two things. A weightless stick bait on a weedless wacky hook pitched right into the vegetation and then a tube or creature or craw that won't get caught on vegetation too much doing the same thing. Right now with weather patterns across the country I would slow down and be extremely methodical. Any color is fine so long as it's Junebug.

That happened to me earlier in the month. I let a few fish get away from me, straighten hooks, and pop line and everything in between for the first 3 weeks of the month. You've really got to just get out of your head and get back to fishing and enjoying yourself, then it will start to come to you. Just go out and have fun, you'll get back in the game.

That's a bummer. If its straight up moss/sticky stuff I can't really help you with it. When it's this early in the year it will be problematic especially because fish aren't hitting on top yet. They are probably right under it and there is no good way to get to them, even pitching right up into it, you'll just get your bait covered with junk. That or its suffocating them because it is sucking up oxygen. Green sticky algae is never good for fish or fisherman IMO.

You have to have some sort of drivers license and have taken a boating safety class to drive one in Indiana.

I understand what you are saying. Here is my advice... you probably won't like it but I did the same thing and it made my life so much better. Stop fishing that area and find a new place to fish.

That is the consensus I've been hearing across general rain gear threads is pants over bibs. I don't know if this would be an issue or not for me, I will have to bring in my jacket and try on some pants with it. I tried on pants tonight at Gander mountain and they were a little big feeling almost, which would be nice becuase I might where shorts under them so i could quickly ditch the pants if need be and hop in the car or crawl through some crap or whatever, but I'm not sure I liked how big they felt, but I wasn't sure smaller would be better. I will try on the smalls next week, I don't get paid for a week anyhow.

Only managed one bite today. Fished really well yesterday as the storm was coming through but today the water was muddied up and the post front moving in it will have to be a slow methodical kind of fishing to get them. Junebug stickbaits, black and blue jigs and plastics and black spinnerbaits with Colorado blades and rattle chambers is what I will be fishing tomorrow.

I almost bought one the other day. They were too expensive for the perceived value for me to pick one up. I'm going to be buying some of the Casey's Classic heads they are currently $2.99 on Cabela's website. Looks to be very similar but without the paddle tail, which I have no need for. I religiously fish Big Bite paddle tails. I look forward to getting some and trying them out, I think they would be very good when the bass are suspended, which they were for the first 3/4 of the month, so will give them a try when I am faced with the same conditions. Sorry for the writeup with the lack of true feedback, but that is my 2 cents. I'd like to hear what others say as well.

Looking to get some pair of water PROOF bottoms for fishing and working in. I went fishing the other day in a heavy downpour and stayed out longer than normal because I had a new waterproof Columbia jacket that I picked up on sale and it kept my upper body 100% dry the entire time. I'm super impressed with it's performance. The only problem was that when I got back to the car, my jeans were 100% soaked, because I had stayed out in the heavy rain. I'm not sure what direction I should go in seeking rain gear for below the waist. I hear a lot of people say go with bibs and not pants, but as a bankbound angler I am worried that a pair of bibs would be to cumbersome to tackle the lake from the bank in. I'm also worried because I am on the bank of a small reservoir that has a lot of brush along the bank that nay type of gear, bibs or pants will end up ripped from a thorn or piece of brush. Any advice of what i should be looking at or for would be appreciated.

It looks like there is a little lake in the middle of that area.... Ever fished it?

Caught 4 today between a SK RES in a shad color and a Junebug Yum Dinger. Rained pretty good, just got this new waterproof Columbia jacket on sale for $60 and really like it. Sorry for inverted pics.

Hello All, Not necessarily an intro, most of you guys have probably brushed paths with me on the forums or elsewhere possibly... I have been on a hiatus from the forums for a while. I got really busy with school and work and swimming that I got caught up in it all and couldn't find time to get on the forums, or fish like I have been wanting too. Now I am back in full capacity hopefully, and I've been back to fishing here lately, more fishing rather than catching. Things have changed a little since I have been last on these boards, I've got a new job, I'm now a groundskeeper at a park. I am still a swim instructor and an athlete as well, but hope to be able to fit it all in! Just glad to be back on here to share and learn!

This weekend was fruitless. Will be getting out tonight, and finally it will 100% be overcast skies with some weather coming in. The rest of this week should be stable as well, so maybe that will fix things up for this weekend.

Went out to the park lake. No dice. The rain stirred it all up, and the blue bird skies weren't helping. I'll go again this afternoon, hopefully with some overcast skies on the way in.

I'll be getting out in the next couple of days. Was hoping to get out last night but other obligations got in the way.

Yeah, that's the easiest way to make sure that you are not getting stolen from. I have an automatic notifications sent to my phone everytime my card makes a purchase for $10 or more.
