  1. makes sense. Would i still need to make sure the structure scan is above the skimmer?
  2. would it be worth adding a jack plate for a 25hp merc? Also, is there anything else i could do to avoid having to trim while scanning with the lss
  3. hey, i removed all the hardware and what not, the picture was just to provide a visual on the step(because it was a poor design and doesn't make much sense on a tin boat lol)! but does it matter whether i mount it on the left or right?
  4. Hey guys, Im planning on mounting the new structure scan transducer as well as the skimmer for my HDS 9. I purchased a Transducer Mounting plate( 4"x 12") to mount the transducers to the back of my 2005 Bass Tracker . I understand the Structure scan transducer must be mounted above the skimmer, but i don't know the best area to screw in the mounting plate! Advice please! I attached a picture below of the back of the boat to show the areas i could mount it.
  5. what is the purpose of the buss bar? circuit protection?
  6. thats an extremely good price for the battery. Battery problem solved! I was looking at something earlier similar to this...http://www.cabelas.com/product/Boating/AutoBoat-Batteries-Chargers/Auto-Boat-Battery-Accessories|/p would you advise using this to ensure a good connection?
  7. Man, obviously i don't know or i wouldn't be asking or suggesting ideas! haha. Starting to make sense to me now though
  8. yeah its exactly what what youy suggested in the link but it is a switch instead of knob
  9. Assuming that it'll be wired to a 1150 cca agm battery
  10. How would you advise, with safety in mind, that the lowrance systems/stereo/accessories be wired? Thanks
  11. The thing is I'm powering the engine along with two lowrance hds touch units, sonic hub, sonar hub, and gofree, so I want a powerful battery that I can be positive to depend on.
  12. I believe there are specific charging systems designed for the higher cca batteries. Definitely more expensive though, and they take out the worry of jumper cables or failures for me. So I think I've decided on a group 31 agm battery.
  13. Not that worried, just don't want any problems due to stuff I can control. I've settled on a group 31 agm battery
  14. Thanks for the advice! I'm planning on installing protech deck matting before the carpet. Any advice on this or if I should screw the board in before I add this and them carpeting!? Thanks again!
  15. Also, the engine would be wired on the same circuit if it was connected at the accessory switch on the dash panel, and I want it completely seperate and direct to the battery!
  16. Aren't the accessory switches on the dash wired into the harness and that circuit? I don't see how wiring direct power to simply control the lowrance units would be redundant? I feel like it'd actually be more simple than dealing with the current mess of a wiring system at the dash console! Just looking for all the advice possible!
  17. Tom, i want a good enough AGM cranking battery that i don't need to worry about carrying a jumper cable or running the outboard and how it would affect startup or voltage. Thanks for the advice though!
  18. thanks tom! why wouldn't i want to countersink the screws?
  19. Great advice! and there s a lowes a few minutes fro my house. I may go with a slightly longer screw because the deck will be thicker and have heavier carpet/padding. My idea is to paint the aluminum framing and while it is still wet, placing the assembled and cured deck on it so the faming traces onto the wood. Then i can set intervals that i want the screws at and can be SURE that I'm screwing into the framing center and not into the foam or anything surrounding it!! If you have any other ideas please let me know!
  20. thank you! that is honestly all i needed to know haha. the screws the previous owner used were standard deck screws and rusted and were awful to get out so i will go with stainless steel screws of similar size. Where is a good place to get the fast cure and fiberglass cloth? also, should i assemble the pieces of wood and bond them previous to putting them in the boat, or should i put them in then assemble them and how long should i let them cure for a solid bond between the plywood? Thanks so much!
  21. just redoing the two decks. The back deck is aluminum but the middle and from are wood. Leaving the aluminum beams in place that the deck screws into and replaced the foam in the boat! So the new decks will be screwed into the crossbeams that are welded to the hull
  22. Hey, i am redoing the flooring in my bass tracker and need some advice. I ordered Marine plywood and epoxy, but i want to know what is the strongest way to join the pieces of plywood together to create the flooring! Thanks!
  23. Do you like it that way and where is a good site to find the supplies? Thanks!
  24. do you think i can run 2 lowrance units and have plenty of cca to power the engine?
