Metanium DC or Metanium MGL
I have been using baitcasters for about 15 years, its all I use , I dont own a spinning reel. I dont have a problem with backlashes. I just want a real nice reel and decided to get a Metanium, again. I had one a few years ago. Right now I have a Steez A, and just sold a couple Bantams. I was just looking for others opinions on the new MGL and DC reels. The more I look at them Im leaning more towards the MGL with the brass gears but I learned to ask around before pulling the trigger to soon, thanks

Metanium DC or Metanium MGL
Im going to treat myself to a new reel, Im looking at the metanium reels, can I get some thoughts on which one to get? MGL or DC? my purpose for this reel will be my “utility” reel, to go on my Megabass Super Destroyer 6’9” rod. buzzbaits, spinnerbaits, swimjigs, hollowbelly swimbaits, that stuff. Thanks all

Is a baitcasting reel that is 7.3:1 ok for a beginner?
I’m kinda new myself and I’m trying to be “realistic” in my approach. I fish at a local reservoir that is pretty much a salad bowl full of water. If I’m not throwing weed less I’m just spending the day cleaning mossy grass off my lures so I decided to way downsize to just a cpl applications and try that. Punching, I have a Daiwa Tatula pitch & flip 7.3 reel with 65# braid. My “utility” rod for spinnerbaits and smaller weedless swimbaits has a Steez 6.3. And I want to get a reel for my dedicated pitching rod. I’m planning on getting the Daiwa Zillion TW HD, do I want the 7.3 or the 8.1 speed? Thanks all

Swimbait Rod
all depends on the weight of the lures

Shimano or Daiwa?
Shimano and Daiwa both make great products, but I like Daiwa reels better myself, I’ve owned quite a few of both

Lafayette Reservoir nor cal
I wanted to start this thread on how to fish the Lafayette Reservoir in Lafayette Ca. ..... because I need the help! lol I dont have a boat but I do have a battery and trolling motor so I love to fish Laf, but most times I just get skunked. Are any of you familiar with this lake and sort of have it figured out? If so, can you share your knowledge? So far I have learned you need to either throw weedless or topwater, otherwise you are going to spend a lot of time cleaning moss off your lure. I did have a great day once when I decided to try drop shot, ya, I got a tone of fish that day, all dinks. Fun, but not what we are looking for. I was enjoying a day on the water a cpl years ago and from a distance watched a guy trolling along the bank and he was tearing them up! when he got closer I commented him on his success and asked what he was throwing but he really didnt want to tell me and just said “green pumpkin” and sailed away.... ok, thats a start, green pumpkin. So what else? So come on No Cal brothers and sisters, “whats up with Laf?”
