  1. Very nice.
  2. Who ya got to win? And who's your favorite team? Kansas wins. Syracuse is my favorite team.
  3. First off, thanks for the compliment. BUT...like most of you, I assume, I ALWAYS feel like I am not doing well enough and I should be catching something on every cast I will admit that it has helped with the confidence. If one of you would have posted two 5 lb+ catches in Illinois I would have said "what the...." So thanks and let's get that next pig!
  4. I see you got moved to the "Central Bass Fishing" location, actually where the state of Illinois should be Unfortunately, you were moved to the wrong location and should be moved to Notheast Bass Fishing.
  5. Nice. Sounds like you had some fun on the water. Good luck next time out.
  6. Sort of...He hit fairly close to shore so didn't get too big of a battle. But still fun.
  7. I heard somewhere that its quality over quantity... Well, that is good because I've caught just two fish the last few days. However, both have been great size around here. This one is 5 pounds 2 ounces, just under 21" long (The other was 5 lb 6 oz). I caught this on a texas rigged trick worm (Watermelon seed) using my spinning reel with 15 lb braid.
  8. Yea, yea, thats what i mean...like i said, i am new to this type of lure.lol
  9. What are your thoughts on the KVD Sexy Dawg Jr in comparison to other jerkbaits? I haven't used any in the past and bought the Sexy Dawg Jr the other day and used for a few minutes after work. Definitely need to work on the technique but was hoping to hear some feedback on some of the jerkbaits you all are using or any opinions on this particular one.
  10. Picked up my first bass of the year and it was a pig (for me?). Went after work for an hour at a friends subdivision pond and got a 5 lb 6 ouncer and 21" long using a 3/8 oz black and blue football jig with trailer. Water still pretty cold here but getting there? One thing that sucks when you fish alone is you can't get any good photos and I had to lay him down to take a pic. But put him back in the water pretty fast.

  12. If you fish Clinton please let me how the bass are progressing if you would. I am planning on fishing there with my son over his spring break (23rd thru 26th).
  13. Thanks for the info guys! Any specific starting locations on Clinton that I should try first and is there any issues with bringing a boat there this time of year? Any decent Hotels in the area?
  14. Hi - I am planning on taking a trip to Lake Shelbyville, Illinois during spring break with my son. It would be our first trip on the new bass boat. The trip would be March 23rd through 25th. What are your thoughts regarding timing? Is it still to early for pre spawn Largemouth or do you think it should be really good timing for central Illinois? I know weather in the next couple weeks will help determine this, but just looking for your knowledge and past experience in this area. Would the southern area coves be the better location this time of year?
  15. I fished it a couple times towards the end of summer and once in the fall. I was able to get two decent size large mouth but that's about it. I plan to give it a good shot this spring.
  16. I find myself watching a whole lot of fishing shows? I will practice some pitching too, but mostly shows and organizing.
  17. I was under the impression that Morris (Heidecke Lake) wasn't open yet??? April 1st?
  18. With the mild winter we've had this year (Northern Illinois area), how early would you guess pre-spawn for us?
  19. Welcome to the forum. Enjoy!
