  1. Fished south yesterday around Texas Island and struggled, worked back up to Hickory and caught some flipping brush but were not loaded in there yet. Moved to Houssen and fought the crowd to catch one more out deep. Ran back to Palo Gaucho and the water temp finally climbed into the 60's and the fish started to turn on. Caught several more and had a friend catch 2 5's on a Light Carolina rig fishing a small creek bend leading into a spawning area, they are starting to move!! There was a 8 and several other nice fish weighed in from our club. The 8 came out of 5ft of water. The winner of our club caught his fish on a chatter bait in the back of Lowes and the second place bag came out of Carrice on a Carolina rig. So I would say the fish are scattered everywhere and don't run from muddy water like I did. My deep fish were gone and probably were hitting the bank. There was a 11.94 caught on the back side of Texas Island on a chatter bait Friday. Water in Mill down south was chalky but not too muddy. Water temp was 54. The rising water level has the fish a little messed but hopefully will settle because the next few days is going to be awesome!! Hope this helps. Good luck!!
  2. Just talked to a friend that's sitting in Palo Gaucho at Alpine ramp. He said the water clarity is very muddy.
  3. What ramp are y'all putting in at? I'm fishing a club out of alpine. Black, silver, and white 210 champ. Heard there is a serious mud line just north of the bridge, heading up shortly, hope it hasn't moved down the lake too far!!!
  4. We'll it looks like a warming trend has started. Water temp has climed to 48-53 around Six Mile and Houssen, specifically Sandy and Hurricane. I heard the winning pattern for BnB this weekend was flipping grass in 10-14 ft, but that could be inaccurate. I'm heading up this weekend, I hope the warm weather has them wanting to get active. Anyone been doing any good?
  5. Fished a tournament Saturday out of 6 mile in the cold and wind. Here are the results. It was truly one of the toughest days on the Bend I've had and years. Water temps ranged from 40-46 with stained to muddy water clarity. Started out in 6 Mile fishing a few grass points and ridges near the mouth of Sandy flipping and throwing ARig where possible with no luck. Ran to Houssen and focused on the outer grass lines in 15-20ft both out on main lake and the stems with no luck. Finished the day in Hurricane dragging a jig and CRig still with no luck. I located fish on the graph but just could not get them to feed. At the weigh in I realized I wasn't the only one that struggled, 8lbs won. The winning pattern was an ARig. Truly a tough and frustrating day but I will be back at Em next weekend. Wish I had a better report but I guess we can't whack em every trip.....
  6. Hello everyone, I am new to this forum and I have read about half of the post starting back in 2008! It's great to find a group that are willing to offer info to help other fisherman with the same passion. I have a lake house in Rebel Ridge, which is located north of Lowes Creek on the big cliffs across from Cypress Bend. I spend a lot of my time on the Bend and will be fishing a tourney out of Six Mile this Saturday, yes in the cold and rain. I will post our results and lake conditions after the tournament. Has anyone been on the water this week? I'm heading up Thursday for a little prefishing. I am looking forward to reading the rest of your post and catching up. Hopefully I can pay back the info that I have already received from you y'all. Thanks. JW.
