  1. Yeah it was in store. And you'll have to pry it from my hands. Best reel I have hands down.
  2. Just picked up a new Lew's Speed Spool LFS display model for 70 bucks
  3. Anyone have any experience with their reels? It looks good and feels good. But what's the frame made of? Not many details on their website. The model number is GMTOUR 100LH-71
  4. Anyone have any experience or tips fishing here?
  5. I know I didn't specify, but the river I'm usually fishing is so big, that the current is that extreme. It's there. But. Not like a smaller river.
  6. I want a new spinning rod and was wondering if it's worth the extra 80 bucks for the FJ. I've heard bad things about binding in newer shimano spinning reels, although I haven't had the problem yet. Any opinions?
  7. I've been by this place a few times, never really fished it. It's a point at the end of an island in the middle of the river I normally fish. The bottom is usually sandy and mucky in this river. The current flows right to left in the picture. Does anyone have any experience fishing places like this? I know points usually hold fish in lakes. Are rivers any different?
  8. Does anyone else's head spin when they're at BPS or Cabelas? Even if I take inventory and make a list of what I need, I end up having too many choices.
  9. Need a new spinning rod. Fenwick rods look really nice but I've only ever owned st Croix. Any opinions? It would be for finesse fishing
  10. I'm looking at building my rod and reel collection. I always find myself spending too much time tying on baits. This is what I have so far -Shimano Citica on St Croix Mojo 7'4 Crankster -Abu Garcia Black Max on St Croix 7' MF Spinnerbait rod -Shimano Sahara 2500FE on 6'8 Ugly Stik
  11. Is the inside or outside better in the turn of a river? The side that gets more sunlight or wind? Does any of this matter to bass or is it just over thinking?
  12. Im fishing the inside of a turn in the river, I've heard that the outside of turns get more oxygen and food flowing over there. Could there be any truth to that?
  13. It's the Kanawha River in charleston West Virginia. Lots of lay downs around the dock. Some dead grass in 5 feet of water. Clarity is about 5 feet. Current is average. Rip rap on the banks. We also just had two warm sunny days, today is the third day of it. I'm going out again this afternoon to try. I figured some would come up shallow around the rocks cause it would be warm.
  14. I've tried a lot of stuff. Slow rolling spinnerbaits. Shakey head. Skirted jigs with rage craw trailers. Deep crank baits. This dock is on a large River that only gets about 25 ft deep in the channel. Where I'm fishing it's from the bank to 15 feet deep.
  15. I fish almost four days a week from the same dock and can't catch anything. Maybe there just aren't any fish there.
  16. I'm on a bit of a budget and I got the E for 49.99 at Gander. It was a left hand display model they couldn't get rid of.
  17. Thanks for the input. I guess I'll just have to try them and see. The aluminum frame sounds like it would be sturdier. But I didn't know if there would truly be that much difference.
  18. It's between a AbuGarcia Black Max and a Shimano Citica 200e. The rod is a st Croix mojo crankster.
  19. Just got a display model Citica for 49 dollars at Gander Mtn, and a Mojo Bass cranking rod for 60 dollars. Pretty good day for me. Gander mtn is having some good sales right now.
  20. I'm in the market for new rods and I want to know how to test their sensitivy or if it's worth testing at all. Or is it all about the line I have on the rod? I have a St. Croix Mojo Bass at the moment and it feels good but not as sensitive as I think it should.
  21. I fish on the Kanawha River in WV, it's similar to the Mississippi and Ohio rivers. I'm never able to find a pattern or large numbers of fish. Anyone have any luck on rivers like this? Where do you find fish? How do you fish them?
  22. Had a few warm days and tried jig fishing the Kanawha river near charleston. No luck. Any tips or ideas for large river patterns in winter?0
