I use them, I like them for a quick clean for at the trap range, spt clays range. I bring one for a 30 cal in a small cleaning kit for hunting. Once they get dirty, you can wash them . That's only for a fast clean. There s nothing like a full cleaning with a good rod, an solvent if your not shooting right away.
  3. Welcome to the forum. Where is Libertytown . I live in North East , MD, on the N.E.river. Stripers , lg mouths and smallie's I fish the N.E., the flats, all bodies of water near me. Trout, I only fly fish for them.
  4. When I tried braid for the first time. Tackle store put it on a spinning reel, I went plugging for stripers from a boat. I had braid falling off the reel in great loops on every cast. Bad part is I put everyone in the boat on fish. Fishing was hot, I got so ticked i threw the rod and reel and braid in to the Susky flats, still out there.
  5. Hi, I believe it works like this. Your boats O.K. for Maryland waters. You will need a non resident lic. But only you can fish on the boat with this lic. Now if you get the non resident boat fishing lic , then every one on the boat can fish from it. But only you can fish from any Maryland shore. Other people you bring can only fish from the boat. Check the Maryland DNR web to be really right. Hope this helped, if i'm right.

I like the way mono holds up against sand, rocks and fighting fish.I use it for casting plugs in the surf also. But this year i want to do a lot of bass fishing. Iv'e done it in the past, caught a 7.5 ib bass , and it was great. So i have a lot to learn about bass fishing. I know i'm on the right forum to do so. Thanks all. Have a great fishing year.

  15. Rusty, yes i can talk about braid cutting. i cut myself with it. Now you shouldn't be pulling on a birds nest that hard, There are post's on how to properly pick at a birds nest. You like braid, fine : keep using it. I love mono, that's what floats my boat. As long as we are all fishing.
  16. Iv'e tried braid three times, hated it. wind not's,for salt water it cut's easy on the rocks. But it will cut your fingers. I have never had a problem with mono on fresh water and salt water. Bass fishing i use mono. salt water fishing piers, boats, surf i use mono. This year for fresh water i'm trying floro. I use it for top shots and shock leaders for the salt. Now i'll try it for fresh water.
  17. I fish all year when i can. Saltwater, freshwater, fly fishing for trout, Winter i hit the trout streams once a week. spring to winter I'll fish 3 to 4 times a week. Nice being retired.

  23. I remember reading a long long time ago in Out door life. A guy catches a bass, lands it , picks it up buy the lips, and gets bit by a baby water mococine . Bass had just eaten the snake. fisherman survived. That had to be in the 60's.
  24. Hi, I'm a little new to bass fishing from shore. I don't have a boat now, I'll be bank fishing .I'm use to a boat were i had evry thing on her.
