  4. Agreed. mktrout it is not what you said that is the issue, it is how you said it. You can disagree with anyone that you would like to and people will say nothing about it. But if you disagree and in the process are just plain rude people will say something. Bass_Newbie
  5. Well I got my first bass boat . It is a 1985 Aggressor 1500 Bass Champ with a 40hp Merc. She aint real pretty but I think I got a good deal on her for only $1400.00. The motor was checked out and is a sound motor with good compression. The carbs were just rebuilt a few weeks ago along with the fuel pump being replaced. The trailer has 2 brand new tires on it also. The to do list and questions. 1. The gel coat is completely gone from the top half of the boat. Is this something that can be done as a side project or should I have it professionally done. If I can do it what type of gel coat should I purchase and is there much prep to it. 2. The carpet needs to be replaced. I'm pretty sure I can do this my self as it appears most of it is just glues down other than the hatches which are glued and stapled. 3. The trailer has a good bit of rust on it. Most of it appear to just be surface rust so I'm going to sand it down and repaint it. Is there a certain type of paint that is need for this or would any primer and out door paint work? 4. Any other ideas or tips would be much appreciated!
  6. QFT curiosity is killing me anyone know what this stands for Cajun, QFT means "Quoted for Truth" But G3s' could apply also Charles
  7. Senkos will work good and you may also want to try some flukes. Charles
  8. Sweet idea! Add my name to the list I'll throw some mojo on it! Charles
  9. My lake is the same way. I've been having great luck with weightless flukes and senkos. Cast to or near the timbers and let it sink all the way to the bottom then I work the bait slow. The fish at my lake have been presured pretty hard and the only way I can get them to bite is to fish slow. By slow I mean sllloooowwww. But it has been a great way to curve my impatient ways Charles
  10. I did last weekend Me and my buddy were trolling the banks and I seen a little notch cut into the bank. It was only about 3 foot wide and 2 ft in depth it had a branch hanging across it. Up until this point I had been skunked all afternoon. So I kind of jokingly said I was going to get a grown fish out of there. By buddy told me all I was going to get was hung up So I made a nice cast and it went right under the branch. As soon as the worm hit the water I though I felt a bite so I set the hook and started reeling. My buddy started laughing at me because it appeared I was hung up. I started swearing to the fishing gods. So he started trolling over to get me unhung and sure enough I was wrapped around a floating limb. As I reached down to untwist the line the bass rolled over! I had hooked a 3 to 4 pound bass and a tree limb! We quickly got the limb free and the fish on the boat. I looked over at my buddy and said "Who laughing now!' Also this was a PB for me. Charles
