Very Interesting Saying
My god have none of you ever hit a button by mistake when posting something and not caught it until you pressed post? On a post about fishing maps a guy called wayne T who I assume is a teacher from his post, misspelled "device" [spelling it devise] no one jumped all over him. At least the kid is interested in fishing instead of bath salts and glue.

First Baitcaster
I bought my wife a black max combo and I have used it some, it is as good as the $300 Revo I used, replaced it with a KVD Quantum for this year. The thing I found about baitcasters is to get distance you have to set the controls loose and thumb the spool. I have only been using a baitcaster for 2 of my 50 years of fishing, but they do have there advantages at times. The release point is not the same as a spinning reel, I have to remember that when I switch from one to the other. My g-loomis rod makes casting it much easier than the cheaper rods.

Love The Summer Bite
Know what you mean tnt2671, Even the creeks and rivers are froze over here in mid- east Indiana. I fish when I can, working 6 days a week you have to go when you can so the season or weather just has to be dealt with, but that being said I also love the mid-summer season, at least if the fish are not hitting its nice to be outside. I also love mid-summer wading for smallies, great time, shade of the trees, the areas I fish are in the middle of corn and bean fields, you see a deer or two, but no humans! Love It!

Hey, Hootie!
Just wondered, Cinnci. is in that neck of the woods, [caesar creek] Being in Indiana I fish mostly In. lakes, a few that you mentioned. Caesar creek looks interesting, went there once last fall, 6 / 1 pound smallmouth in 9 hours wasnt great, pleasure boaters were horrid.

Hey, Hootie!
Have you ever fished Caesar Creek Reservoir?

Winter Sucks
5 inches of snow today, sun is out now but has not made it to 32 yet, the same for Sunday, chance of another inch of snow. Below zero wind chills for Monday, calling for snow at the end of next week again. I think spring is getting farther away instead of closer.

Anybody Ever Eaten Largemouth Bass Before?
The best way to cook a largemouth bass is to season it with salt and pepper, soak it with lemon for 15 to 20 min. Then place the fish on a cedar plank and cook it slowly on low heat, when the outside begins to brown, remove it from the oven , throw it away and eat the wood plank.

North West Pa Fisherman.
Any of you Pa guys fish Presque Isle Bay? My son lives in Meadville and I am going there on Mem. day weekend to fish with him for a few days, we will more than likley hit it on Sunday of that weekend, we did last year, lots of people, but we just fished where nobody else was, did fair. My question for any of you is has anyone ever done any good fishing the outside edge of the bay, on the big lake side, rather than in the bay itself? The pleasure boaters, and all around morons were very thick. There were at least 150 boats all crowded in a large sand flat area about 6 feet deep all "flipping tubes" would like to avoid them. We hit the sea walls and dock areas, did manage a few smallies, but nothing great. Any other lakes in that area that any of you would recommend? He has lived and fished there for many years, but He and I are always open to opinions or suggestions. Thanks!

Cover Your Bass
When fishing shoreline cover I prefer to stay close to the bank and make parallel cast to the shoreline, casting out towards the open water more with every cast. My son will stay 150-200 feet off the shoreline and cast perpendicular to cover and bank, and moves down the shoreline quickly . Any opinions on this? Other tactics?

Funniest Fishing Stories
My wife started fishing with me after I bought my first boat, [an old 14 ft sylvan v hull I gave 650 for] all she had caught the first 6 or so times out were small Crappie and a few bluegill. I told her we would try to go after some big bluegill one Sunday Morning so I stopped at the bait shop and bought a few dozen waxworms. She had only fished with lures to this point. I baited her hook and told her to just watch her bobber and when it started moving wait for it to go under and then she would have a fish. She sat there for a few minutes and ask me "is this all there is to this?" I said yes this is bobber fishing' well she starts daydreaming and looking around at the birds and such when I told her, Gayle, your bobbers gone. she pulls back on the rod but gets something she didnt count on, something VERY big on the other end. She was screaming what do I do! I told her you have watched River Monsters, pull up and crank down, about that time it took off nearly pulling the rod out of her hand, she grabbed the rod toward the tip I told her NO! It will break your rod keep your rod tip up, she raised the rod so far back she got the line tangled around the hood on her sweatshirt, yelling help me help me. So I took her rod and got the line untangled from her hood, handed the rod back to her and told her its your fish you land it. She did manage to get it to the boat and I was surprised to see a 28 Inch long Carp! She said after it was in the boat, Oh my god my heart is pounding, my hands are shaking! I told her, see fishing is not so boring now is it. We caught several more large carp that day all on waxworms. She has came a long way since then and after 3 full seasons can now hit her marks when casting, and spends lots less time in the trees and bushes, and on several trips has out fished me. She is still my sweetheart.

Hopefull
Hi, I just joined this forum hoping to be able to share info with other fisherman in my area. I live on the Ohio Indiana line north of I-70 about 20 miles. I fish Whitewater Reservoir, Prairie Creek reservoir, Westwood run lake, Brookville some [ a little to many pleasure boaters for me ] , Middle Fork Reservoir, but never have done much there. I have fished Acton, and Caesers Creek in Ohio, but both of them only once. I also like to wade, Missisinawa River being my primary choice because its close, I can be in the water in 20 min. I am a member of other forums, but they are more interested in Walleye and Crappie fishing, nothing wrong with crappie and walleye, I catch them to, but not by choice. Love River smallies, hard fighting fish. Anyone out there live within 50 Miles of me? Not into Ice fishing, to cold for a 55 year old to sit on ice for long periods. My son does it, but he lives in north Pa where the ice is better, and he is 34, it doesnt bother him so much. Anyway hope to share catches and tactics for my area with someone, been fishing as far back as I can remember.
