  1. Just ordered some #10 X-Raps from them.
  2. Not big on the colors, blue/purple/black man myself, but I'm with jigman. Loving the long skirt.
  3. If you're having line memory issues with mono, that's on your end. It's all I've ever used and I've never had an issue with the exception of when I allowed my old man to put line on my reels. If it's put on correctly, it'll work just fine. The few times I've used fluoro I've run into memory problems. The occasional braid I use (Spiderwire, forgot which sub-brand), I actually love it. Love the diameter, the feel, didn't feel like braid. Just can't get used to the fraying that occurs to it after every lure change.
  4. Weighed 6.25 pounds. Would have loved to have gotten her loaded to the gills.
  5. Just feeling your pain. Hope all works well.
  6. In my waters, hard to beat a #5 Jointed Shad Rap in Fire Crawdad in the middle of a cold winter day. Cast, pull slow.
  7. No no, you took it wrong. I was pulling the rat-l trap in and a smallie took it. Tore my hands to shreds. Have since spent quality money on reels. My Lew's as yet to backlash and I doubt it ever will.
  8. We had this issue back in high school. Boat building class and I wanted to use mine for fishing. Mine was wooden with a fiberglass coating. One thwart worked for me. Shouldn't be any different for an aluminum canoe.
  9. I own one. 13,500 out the garage of the man I stole it from. Brand new Gen 3 HDS 12 and 9. And Ranger isn't a name....it's the name in bass boats. I've never owned a boat that didn't have Wood or Champion's name to it. But I'd die of a heart attack if I spent 60,000 on a boat.
  10. Don't start talking about braid cutting hands. There's been a few times that birdnest wouldn't work itself out and while pulling in the lure, it's been taken. Mono will happily cut deep.
  11. I haven't caught anything on his popper mainly due to my problem of being anxious for that bite. Old man had a few monsters, just wish I could land them.
  12. All the beer that won't fit in the rest of the storage. Always have a cookout with friends after the day at the lake.
  13. Don't hate on it. Have to start somewhere. How many people skipped the old pushbuttons and went straight to baitcasters? Not many.
  14. Couldn't tell you. For starters, I never use a multiple piece rod. I rarely use a spinning outfit unless I'm throwing ultra light stuff.
  15. I say put the time and money into leather padded seat and back and bolt it somewhere in the man cave.
  16. Oh...my rat-l traps have a competitor now.
  17. Would ya'll choose these rods compared to the JM Carbonlite? I was deadset on the Carbonlite, but seeing this throws a wrench in my plans.
  18. How old are ya'll? Anyone over 30 and I'm gonna wonder why you're watching that show...
  19. They can't do a thing. I do see where you're coming from, but that's only a requirement for actual farm use diesel. And TN state troopers love those tickets. You pay your tax on the methanol. In the last 2 years I've been running it, I've been stopped multiple times, tested everytime, and fined everytime. You're given a reciept for the methanol that has the same tax as any fuel. Show papers and you're clear. If you can prove it's 100% biodiesel, you're free to go.
  20. When the stripe hit, you don't need a trailer. Throw, crank, hold on, release, repeat. But using them for the last 10 years, the price has doubled from when I last purchased. And I've called reps about said loop. It is just a loop to keep the blade in position. However, it would be interesting to see it with something behind it. When could you use it other than open water? That's the only time I use them.
  21. Hasn't that saying gotten many men in trouble?
  22. It's like their $1000 rod. THAT'S ART! I just don't see it for me. I've held one and it doesn't feel like $1000. It feels like my St. Croixs. Granted, the handle was not shaped for my hand...
  23. Ok, I've come to a conclusion that a trip to BPS isn't a smart idea, but it's happening. I'm getting a new Carbonlite and I'm wondering if I should just break down and get fluoro.
  24. I'm loving the people on this site...
  25. Lew's are built the same. I absolutely fell in love with mine. It beats the old Ambassadeur 6500CDL and 5601 Classic C4.
