Jigs
I am wanting to start making my own jigs and wanted yalls opinion. I found a guy about an hour away selling arkie style head for 25 cents a piece in 1/8,1/4,3/8,1/2 sizes. I was wanting to use this style head for most of my jigs and thought this would be easier and about the same costs as pouring them myself. My thinking was to buy the heads from him and them purchase my skirts and rattles and all from somewhere like fishingskirts.com. Does this sound like a good way to get started and see if I like it?

H2O Lures?
I got 2 of their jerkbaits to try last year and I like them. They perform well for me.

Bridge Pilings / Courtesy
Most of the bridges around here have big metal rings made especially for tying off to. They label them "fisherman mooring rings"

Anyone Fishing The Oakley Big Bass Tour This Year?
I might fish the one on Murray in September. Will depend on funds and how my school schedule is that semester.

Help!
I would guess your fuel pump may be weak and not able to keep up on the long runs at higher rpms. Just something to check.

Georgia Weather (The Rest Of The South Too)
This weather has just about shut lake murray down. 2-3 weeks ago the fish had started coming up and 20-25 pounds was winning tournaments and now if you have 15 you will probably win. All the winning bags are coming from 30-35 ft where they were coming from 10 or less a couple weeks ago.

Tip Of The Day
Or a battery in anything for that matter. Got to the lake with a buddy one morning and he hadn't charged the batteries. 2 hour round trip back home to get a spare and we were finally on the water.

Non Bass Boat In Tournament
I checked with the club I wanted to fish with and they said my cooler set up would work. Its a 120 quart marine cooler with a bilge pump feeding a spray bar and I will cycle in fresh lake water every so often and I use an aquarium thermometer to control the temp and match the lake.

Is There Such Thing?
I use a 120 quart cooler with a bilge pump feeding a spray bar in the top. I use an aquarium thermometer to control the temp and do my best to match the lake.

Dead Fish Penalty?
Our state tournament my senior year in high school(last year), we had to trailer about an hour to the sportsmans expo to weigh in. They checked for dead fish before we left the ramp and were not penalized if the fished died between the ramp and weigh in. It was cool to get to weigh in at the expo, but I would have rather just weighed at the ramp and then have a ceremony for the winners at the expo to limit dead loss.

Non Bass Boat In Tournament
I love the front deck on it with the way the front is flat instead of pointed it has lots of room for a boat that size.

Non Bass Boat In Tournament
Mainly lake Murray and maybe greenwood or Monticello a little. I got a reply this morning and they said my livewell would be fine for the tournaments they have. Its a small club who fishes Murray once a month.

Calling for snow here tomorrow in SC. Got a lot of ice in the upstate at home last week, but nothing but rain down here in Columbia at school.

Grade Your 2014
I would say a B+ for me. I am still learning a lot and as the year went on my average number and size of fish went up. Hoping to keep building and get in a few small tourneys this year.

Non Bass Boat In Tournament
Just sent a message to a club I am interested in fishing with and asked. Thanks!

Non Bass Boat In Tournament
The boat doesn't have a built in livewell, but I have a large cooler that I put a pump and spray bar in that I use as a livewell and I have not had a problem with it keeping fish alive. Would it not being a permanent livewell cause any problems rules wise?

New To The Forums
I am 18 years old(19 in april) and a freshman in college. I live in SC and also go to school here. I have fished since I could walk and was lucky enough to have a pond at my house growing up. I have been fishing the lakes around here with friends for the last 3 or 4 years. I finally got enough saved up and purchased my own boat this past summer. I primarily fish lake murray here in SC. Any questions just ask. Look forward to getting to know some people on here and maybe meeting a few of you in the area.

Non Bass Boat In Tournament
I am a freshman in college right now and have a 17ft Carolina skiff that I saved up and bought this past summer. I purchased the boat so I could fish salt and fresh water. I primarily bass fish and wanted to start fishing some little tournaments and was curious as to everyones opinion on this. Thanks in advance.
