It's great to hear that you got your rod and reel back!
  2. Thanks for the responses everyone!
  3. I just switched over to Suffix braid and I love it. The only issue I have is that the color bleeds when wet. It's not a huge deal because it wipes off easily, but it's annoying nonetheless. Is this something that others have noticed? I tried doing a search but I came up with nothing.
  4. This makes me even more anxious to get out on the river! June 15th can't come soon enough!
  5. Mike, what guide are you going with? I have a trip scheduled with Blaine Mengel from the Backwoods Angler in June.
  6. Shipping is showing up for me when I'm trying to order the 103 as well. All well, it's not going to stop me from taking advantage of this deal. I would purchase a couple more, but I'm a poor college student who is also saving up for a new car. <Edit> I think the reason there is a shipping cost on the 103 and not on the 105 is because the 105s are being shipped directly from Japan whereas the 103s are in stock and being shipped from warehouses in the US.
  7. I actually considered Max McCallister, but I booked with Blaine Mengel instead. I read great things about both guys, so I'm confident neither of us made a bad choice.
  8. I booked a trip with a guide for June 15. I can't wait to get out there! Let us know how you do.
  9. Since you are going to use it for samll and medium cranks, you might want to consider the Chronarch 50 MG. I throw small/meds with mine and it works fine with 10# and I got them from Simmons Sporting Goods on Ebay for $209 +$6 shipping. They are now $219+$7 shipping. I usually get things from there in 2-3 days. http://cgi.ebay.com/SHIMANO-CHRONARCH-50MG-NEW-IN-BOX-BAITCAST-REEL_W0QQitemZ170023839190QQcategoryZ36146QQcmdZViewItem They will also take orders over the phone. I already have a 50MG, and while I love it, I am looking for something different.
  10. That's what I figured. Any mention of the reel being released in America? I searched the forums on Tackletour.com but I couldn't find anything.
  11. I considered the Zillion, but I would prefer a lower gear ratio. I know they are releasing a 4.9:1 version in April in Japan, but I was unsure if it was being released in America. My main concern with that was the warranty issue; if I buy a JDM reel, can I get Daiwa to honor the warranty in the US?
  12. I'm looking for a reel to pair with a G. Loomis CBR783 that will be used as my shallow/medium crankbait setup. I will most likely be purchasing the reel on eBay and from what I've found, the difference between the two seems to be ~$50. Do you think the Chronarch is worth the extra money?
  13. What size tank do you have the Bluegills in and how many Bluegills do you have?
  14. Do you mean the hill that slopes down at a considerable angle and is on the dam side of the lake? If so, I think I know where you mean. Right by the rock ledge, correct?
  15. Where were you fishing at if you don't mind my asking?
  16. Lake Galena is pretty good. I haven't gotten out there yet this summer, but I've been reading that it's still decent. I haven't had much luck on any of the Neshaminy Creek spots I've been fishing; but, unfortunately, because of my work schedule it's the only thing I really have time to fish on a regular basiss. That should change soon, though. I'm hoping to get the boat out to Lake Galena with my father tomorrow.
  17. I'm in the Doylestown area. I fish various spots on the Neshimany Creek and Lake Galena mostly, as well as Lake Nockamixon on occasion. I've recently "discovered" Lake Towhee and I'm anxious to try that out, too. What spots do you fish?
  18. I'm from Bucks County as well and would love to find a good club. Lager, I'll be certain to check out your club's site.
  19. I must really suck at searching, because I did a search before making the thread, I swear! >
  20. Does the rain have any effect, whether it be positive or negative, on your fishing? Do you change your approach or technique to adjust to the different conditions? Also, as I'm sure many of your are aware, many parts of the country have been getting killed by storms over the past week or so. This has obviously caused the water levels to increase substantially. What are the appropriate adjustments to make, if any? I would imagine that adding more weight would be a good approach, but I'd really like to hear the opinions of those with more knowledge.
