On a 7'4" medium rod maybe 30 yards. Less on 7'2" MH. That's at 3/8oz. Most of the baits I throw are 1/2 oZ and above including plastics. 1/2oz Buzzbait with a trailer can be launched pretty dang far.

I Tie braid to a #10 swivel then 2' flouro to a vmc spinshot hook then 1' to sinker.If they are really finicky I use 4' flouro from swivel to spinshot hook.

Another vote for fix tach first and get water pressure guage second. Then you can experiment with prop and height.

With lower gas prices, more trips to Sturgeon Bay. Also I barely fished jigs last year. Might explain my off year. Going back to them as my staple. Learn hollow swimbaits and bladed jigs.

I use the gallon bags also. Best method for me. Another plus is they fit in any compartment also.

I have Terrova I PILOT 55# on my Triton aluminum. It does take time to get used to it, but once you do its a great tool.

I would replace or remove it. With a 150 you have some serious low end torque. You don't want any surprises on take off or coming down off plane. Better to be cautiuos and safe.
