Bass Fishing In The Ponds
Hello Forum, I went out today and fished 2 ponds. It is interesting to see how in one pond a specific lure is the bait of choice however in another pond it doesn't work at all. I started the day trying to locate bass by cranking Rapalas with a KVD 7.1 reel however they were not chasing so I switched to a Senko and got a few hits but it was slow. I then switched to my jigs and I couldn't keep the bass off of the line. It was a fun day and I took two pictures of a 1lb and 3.5lb bass posted below:

How Good Do Bass, Bluegill, Etc Taste?
In my opinion Bass are not a good tasting fish. I think when I tried a Bass many years ago it was a bit weedy tasting.... Sunfish are ok however you will have to filet a lot of them to get any decent meal. Go for something with a bit more meat if like to eat freshwater fish. Personally I gave up on eating any freshwater fish except Walleyes, Crappies and Saltwater fish such as Tuna.

Thought I Had A New Pb
Great story and imagine if that fish was sized to be your next PB. It would have been quite the fight.

Pond Fishing
I went out today and tested out the Senko rig per your advice (thank you) at my pond. I couldn't keep the bass off the line. I didn't stay long enough to catch any size however rigging the senkos whacky made the difference. It was a lot of fun. I am posting a picture of one of the little dudes caught today below:

Pond Fishing
Thanks. I will test out the T-rig tomorrow. I have a pond behind my house which has a pretty good mix of fish in it. I couldn't getm to hook up on the senko when it was rig'd as weedless. Good Fishing.

Hello From Nc
I just joined the forum and figured I say hello. I typically fish a lot of the lakes and ponds in NC during non-summer months and then in the summer time head up to Minnesota. I prefer bass fishing however I am always pretty much up for whatever is biting and of decent size. I attached to this post a picture of the largest bass I have caught to date: 6lbs 4oz. I look forward to hanging out on the forum. Thanks and good fishing.

Pond Fishing
I am new to the forum and I was reading through this thread and thought I might as well comment. I recently bought 5" senko and I have only been able to catch the little bass on them with a weedless setup. I haven't tried wacky yet. I typically fish ponds as well. How do you fish these senkos?
