  1. PBs are weird that way. Its surprising how long its taken me to come off this 5.2lb PB that im stuck on and have been for over a year. You would think living in AL I would have caught one over 6 by now. Im jelly of your catch!!!
  2. Thanks for the input. I am in one of those clubs. We are generally less than 20 boats. I just wanted to make sure that the knowledgeable people of BR didnt have some special numbers or a resource that I couldnt find. I am just going to have to make some assumptions, but I'm fine with that. It will actually make it easier given that nobody can really fact check my numbers, like another member mentioned, which will allow me to better meet my projected product revenue numbers. Thanks again!
  3. Nice one!
  4. Thanks for the input. I doubt I will be able to lock down a super solid number, and with this project im going to have to make some assumptions anyway, so why not the size of the market? lol. And I agree. Stats do indeed suck.
  5. So I have a question that I have not been able to nail down through doing some research and wondered if anyone on this site had any insights. I understand that the fishing market is around $45B, with bass fishing generating approximately $16B of that. There are approximately 27M freshwater anglers. So I took that roughly 35% of the total fishing market based off revenue and came out to approximately 9.5-10M bass anglers. How many of those do you think fish tournaments? 10%? 20%? I am in my final class of my MBA program, and I need to analyze the size of the bass tournament fishing market. So the number of people that fish bass tournaments in the US (and abroad if you have that information). This includes high school, college, pros, bass clubs, etc. Thanks for reading!
  6. I will 3rd the spot motion. Looks like a spot to me.
  7. The chatterbait has been just a cast and retrieve, Ive been trying different depths. The c-rig we were using on Logan Martin this last weekend. You are down south, so the fish should be spawning right now I would imagine. All the normal spring time baits and spawn tactics that you can read about here on this website should be in play. My neighborhood has a lake thats about 31 acres, I have located bottom structure and rocky bottoms. That where I concentrate when im fishing from the bank. But this website contains tons of good articles about what to use and what to target in the different seasons of the year.
  8. We killed them on C-Rigs with smokin blue zoon finesse worms, and with shakeyhead with a green pumpkin black flake zoom trick worm with the tails dipped in JJ's chartreuse and sprayed with Bang!...this was last weekend, we didnt throw anything else, but Ive also been crushing them on a lipless crank and chatterbait. Good luck!
  9. I think the easiest way to go about it is to up the size of your baits.
  10. I tie straight to the clip on most everything. I dont trust swivels.
  11. Yeah. I just cant believe that the fishing was that tough. It makes it that much worse.
  12. When you are fishing a tournament, you know its going to be a tough day, and a 4ish pounder gets off about a foot from the net...and 3lb 11oz total weight takes the tournament win... Thats a tough feeling.
  13. Yeah. I think that's bad etiquette. I think you are taking the right steps in teaching him though. That is a good thing that the generations coming up are learning the proper way to bass fish. Its very important and good on you for explaining good fishing form to your son. Good luck, I hope y'all catch lots of fish together.
  14. Fishing some of the larger lakes here in the south where the water temperatures are higher (upper 80s), the bass will go down 30 feet to get in the cooler water. At least this is the way I understand it.
  15. Ive fished with $150 polarized Oakleys and $20 polarized glasses Ive gotten at Kmart. While the Oakleys were slightly better, I dont think they justify the difference in the price for fishing glasses. All the time outside wear I'd say go for it. I do like Smith Optics, but again...I cant justify spending that money on glasses im just going to fish in.
  16. Live Target Bluegill wake bait
  17. Welcome! This website has lot of great information.
  18. +1 for "eveventy billion." My favorite number.
  19. Not with an angler but...I was fishing a tournament on Wilson Lake about 2 weeks ago. We were fishing the bank off a channel, so you expect boats to speed by. However, this one clown passes by us full trim doing about 60mph by about 25ft. I understand boat traffic since we were just off channel, but really guy? You couldn't give us 50ft? Come on man....
  20. Some healthy looking fish. Nice work!
  21. I lost one just a few weeks ago. That was a first for me. I normally take it off before we are about to run. This time I just turned it backwards...That was a mistake. I turned my head to look at something and off it went. We circled back...but it was gone. Guntersville takes down another. Good thing it was my back up hat.
  22. What kind of hooks are you using? Sometimes they just shake the hook and there is nothing you can do. Sometimes it can feel like its happening a lot of times in a row, when it is just by chance. Especially with the brown fish...they are fighters. Its a good chance that there is nothing you could have done.
  23. Welcome. I just moved out of MD to AL. Im not sure where in Southern MD you are, but I lived there for almost 10 years. If you feel like it, send me a message.
