  1. I have never had any issues with line twist, only with drop shot and it not really a problem, I can just see the braid twisted up. I use braid to flourocarbon leader using a FG knot, I just wanted to see if using a swivel to connect my braid to flourocarbon would be there better option.
  2. I been drop shotting for a few years now and have noticed my braid will get a lot of line twist, check your leader knot when you reel up your drop shot, that is how I noticed it, the braid is spun tight.I usually remove this by cutting off my leader and letting 50 yards trail behind my boat....I make sure my baits are as strait as possible, I flip my bail by hand (always have)I wonder if going to a swivel would be the best option, I have also used the VMC spin shot but I don't feel like my drop shot gets the right action using that hook.Maybe I will give the spro power swivel a try.
  3. Trokar and gamakatsu are the two I use most.
  4. I like to drag a tube this time of year, or drop shot a worm...depends on if I can find how deep they are.
  5. Summer has been pretty bunk for me, I went almost 3 weeks without catching a fish. We had flooded waters this year and the weather went from winter to summer way to fast, it sucked. Now that fall is here is been a little better so far.....but it has been one of the slowest summers ever
  6. Usually a sandwich of some kind, I also usually stop some place on the way to the lake.

What is everyones favorite drop shot hook? I been using Gamakatsu and Trokar in sizes 2,1 and 1/0 I wanted to give the mustad hooks a try and picked up some size 2 and got a free extreme finesse hook in package.
  8. Columbia diablo creek is what I like and use.
  9. Besides Suffix, most other leaders of the same brand are actually lower diameter in the same lb rating. Lately I been thinking about going back to mono for a leader....
  10. This is the area I'm talking about, just in case others thought I was talking about below the locking nut.
  11. I've been messing with lines a lot lately, probably to much. Lately I been wondering if a mono leader would be the better option to go with over a fluorocarbon leader. Mono has come a long ways since I was a kid, and the whole visibility of mono vs fluoro is crap IMO, I have done water tests and can see both the same. For a given cross sectional diameter a high quality nylon material has appreciably higher break strength than Fluorocarbon. Knot strength, tensile strength, shock strength. Now I'm not talking about cheap mono like eagle claw from walmart, I'm talking about mono like suffix elite mono. Thoughts?
  12. pics- Before adding the reel After adding the reel.
  13. All I know is that the NRX "to me" is the most sensitive rod I have used. The amount of vibration I feel is amazing, the second is a megabass destroyer rod.....
  14. I will see if I can get a picture, its not bothersome as long as its normal and does not cause any issues down the road....
  15. Just got the 742 HP spinning and put on a shimano stradic fj, its a little heavier reel then I'm used to (vanquish-Exsence) but it seems to balance this length of rod about perfect.... Anyways, I tightened the reel down and its almost like the reel seat is to small, it tightens down and is solid but does leave about 1/4" exposed above the blank where the epoxy ramp is, if that makes sense. Is this normal?
  16. Its going on a 2014 Tracker 175, I have the MK edge 45 on right now.
  17. Bass Pro Shops has a Maxxum 65 variable speed for $650 but they also have the Maxxum 70 variable speed for a listed price of $879, the cheapest I could find the Maxxum 70 variable speed for was $766 online. So how can they offer the 65lb for such a low price??? I'm confused. Before I found out about the 65lb thrust I ordered the 70, I wonder if I should cancel my order and save around a $116 bucks and lose 5 thrust... Thoughts?
  18. Shimano with megabass rod???? Closest to anything Daiwa I have.
  19. The NRX 852 is a more stiffer sensitive blank in my hands. Both rods are labeled as Medium but the MB Addermine is more lighter in action, almost between a M and ML. It also feels more like a fast action vs ex fast like the NRX. What makes the Addermine special is how it feels in the hand, the sensitivity is excellent (not NRX excellent but still very good) and the build is simply amazing, its also better balanced then the 852 NRX. The Addermine is a better drop shot, ned, wheel head, flick shake rod, it handles lighter lures better. The NRX is a better tube, senko, shakey head, small jig rod, it handles heavier lures better. I liked the 852 NRX so much I got it in casting also. But both can be used for the same technique.
  20. Everyone of my baitcasters has 20lb braid except my swimbait rod, it has 65lb braid. My spinning reels have 10lb or 15lb braid. I use Vicious no-fade braid on all my baitcaster, I have used almost every braid out there and the vicious is simply amazing, it really does look brand new after months of fishing it. My spinning rods get either Seaguar smackdown or P-line TCB8 in high vis-yellow, I would love it if vicious made there no-fade braid in less then 20lb and in yellow. When I first started using braid years ago I started with 30lb braid and it worked excellent but I find the 20lb gets my lures deeper faster and I can cast farther, I have never had a dig in of any kinda with any braid. The only line wind knots I got from spinning gear was from Daiwa.
  21. FG knot is the best I have used so far.
  22. Shimano Exsence - Megabass Destoryer Addermine
  23. FG knot is all I use anymore. Whats a UG knot?
