  1. All great advice. I have a full time job now that pays me pretty well. I'm not struggling by any means. My fiancé just graduated and makes quite a lot as a NICU BSN nurse. She's all for me getting a boat seeing how happy it really makes me and she likes to fish too so best of both worlds. As long as I can keep my payments hovering 150-200 I would be extremely happy. I'm not the type to live outside my means.
  2. I have checked out those pro team trackers and think they would be an awesome first rig. Just don't see many around me currently which kind of sucks. I am not going to jump into a boat since boat stands for BustOutAnotherThousand lol. If it was red I thought about buying that haha. its 9900
  3. Hey guys I think I'm going to take the leap into buying a bass boat. I only want to finance about 7 grand since I just bought a 2005 silverado to pull the boat in cash so I'm limited to about 2 thousand or so to put down on the loan. So in the 7-10k range what would you recommend? I do want to fish tournaments so Im looking to get atlas a 90hp outboard. Im a college student so I can't spend much more than that. Id like my payment to hangout in the 150-200 range. I greatly appreciate it. P.S. I hate kayaks so thats not an option lol.
  4. well the tick finding your undesirable is a blessing. The women on the other hand not so much lol.
  5. I'd end up in flames somehow. Lol. Usually I just use deet but haven't grabbed a bottle yet.
  6. If you need a fishing buddy let me know lol.
  7. I've caught a bunch of 2 and 3s frogging but being on the bank sucks there and those chunks do come after the 35 dinks lol.
  8. Haha the fear of the Lyme disease isn't going to stop me from catching those green monsters lol.
  9. I'm not a big fan of lost grove yet. That is terrible! I literally am terrified of ticks too which sucks lol
  10. It's the only thing I'm scared of running into when I walk through the woods to get secluded lakes and pounds.
  11. Ticks are out in full force now that spring is begun. I found 1 crawling on me and 1 on my leg that wasn't embedded. I freaking hate those things lol
  12. It's the American bass angler association the 15th and the 7th is just open to anyone.
  13. The ABA tournament is the 15th at lake Macbride near Iowa city Iowa. And the May 7th tournament is a charity tournament in braidsville put on by Exelon.
  14. Braidwood lake May 7th. It's the Exelon charity tournament. Winner gets 4 grand and pays out 10 spots. Then Lake big hollow 14th and Lake Macbride the 15th as of now. Are you fishing any?
  15. Keitech shiners or paddle tail swimbair but lately they have been hammering some twin tail white grub
  16. I would start with either a lipless or spinnerbait/chatterbait. Then I would break it down flipping a kinky beaver or jig. If all fails a shaky head or drop shot
  17. I like trying new things to throw a shaky head since it's a deadly presentation that usually always works. I myself like roboworms and rage Craws. What's your go to?
  18. I'm fishing a pretty big tournament May 7th and 15th and I'm already itching to get it going lol.
  19. Nope they kept it going. Only 20 boat showed up. We caught about 14 bass and only two kept at 15 inches. We had about 6 that measured 14.5 which really hurt us. We had 6 pounds. The winner was the only team who bagged out and had 11 pounds. It was 28 degrees at blast off and breezy and ended up to be 75 with 35mph winds. It was tough but I had a good time.
  20. He's 33 and won his first tournament at 19. He's a great angler. He loves to flip and pitch all day which i really enjoy as well. Only bad part is the tournament might be cancelled due to wind. 25-30mph southwest winds with gusts over 40. I'm praying they don't cancel and the forecast is wrong. I'd love a little ripple on the water but don't want to deal with 40mph wind.
  21. Luckily the forecast changed and the high is 64 and sunny so I'm expecting it to be much nicer than expected haha. I'm really excited
  22. hahaha. Im a 4 time a day dumper and I was actually thinking about that. I don't think Ill eat much of anything just incase hahaha.
  23. That's exactly what I'm going to do. Just fish for fun. I don't really care how I finish. I played extremely competitive traveling baseball for 11 years and it's nice to have the competition feeling again. It would be awesome to get a check but like you guys said its more about having fun with people that enjoy the same thing you do.
  24. Hello guys I'm super excited to fish my first tournament next Sunday and have a few questions. The weather leading up to Sunday is suppose to range from 50s and hitting 70 a few days before but the high of Sunday is 42 degrees and sunny. I know 10 day forecasts aren't accurate but that's what it currently says. I'm a co angler who's fishing with an older friend who's fished tournaments for 15 years so I know he'll put us where we need to be. My first question is... I got 5 rods plus a spinning set up I'm going to take and was wondering what you would have tied on prior to tournament? I'm sure I'll have a jig, swim jig/bladed jig or spinnerbait plus a jerkbait and maybe a trap definitely tied on my casting and either a drop shot or shaky head on my spinning outfit. Secondly, what the hell do I wear? I don't own rain gear overalls or anything like and I don't want to freeze my balls off. Any advice is greatly welcomed and appreciated. I'm just super excited and nervous in a good way
  25. I can't seem to pick up a bite on the drop shot the last few times out. Don't know if Im not letting it sit long enough or if my roboworm is stuck in the weeds and fish can't seem to dial in on it.
